Hailing from Phoenix, AZ, Jane N’ The Jungle is a band known for their explosive energy, loud guitar riffs, and unfiltered honesty. With a sound that mixes alt rock, metal, punk, and a touch of indie pop, they’ve achieved a distinct style that has caught the attention of radio and media across North America. Their EP, Life of the Party, was recently released alongside a new video for the album’s title track. Frontwoman Jordan White sheds light on the single, saying “Welcome to the downfall of our happiness in the title track of our new record “Life of the Party,” about the multiple realms of addiction and becoming someone’s drug.”
Kicking off the EP, “Dirty Dog” throws listeners right into an intense rocker with Jordan’s vocals leading the charge. The heavier sound continues with “Metal Ghost”, then takes a poignant turn with the third song, “Wasteland”. A mellower, moodier side to the band, this track offers a vulnerability in the lyrics and vocal delivery – but the chorus drives home the anger and raw emotion behind it. There’s definitely a story here, and it’s one you’ll want to take a careful listen to.
“Cut Me Open” has a catchy feel to it, and a chorus you can’t help but get stuck in your head. And speaking of earworms – 2023 single “Bed of Roses” is the penultimate song on the EP, serving as a standout track with a memorable chorus. Last, but, certainly not least, the title track, “Life of the Party” ends the release on a high note. Dramatic and compelling, the song is about different addictions, and wanting to be the life of the party.
Overall, this 6-song EP is a rock juggernaut. The song’s lyrics examine and uncover serious topics while the music takes the listener on a rollercoaster ride of killer riffs, impeccable melodies, and a heavy sound balanced by elements of light.
