Alternative Radio – “Ain’t Part of the Plan”

Country: USA

Genre: Rock

From the Artist: “From a singing drummer, and stage antics to their wild and primitive rock “n” roll style Alternative Radio sticks out like a sore thumb in today’s scene. This Milwaukee punk rock “n” roll band takes off where the local scene left in the ’80s. Taking a cue from bands like Oil Tasters and The Haskels, they continue Milwaukee’s great history of local music. Alternative Radio looks back at the past to look to the future and returns to the primitive rock “n” roll of the 70’s and early 80’s. In 2019 The band met at art school and began by playing campus shows at pop-up art galleries. Today going stronger than ever, they continue their goal to take over the city. The current Line up is: Corbin – guitar Stark – drums & vocals Randle – bass (also the lead guitarist of NYX) “

SeepeopleS – “Two Silhouettes”

Country: USA

Genre: Americana

From the Artist: “The anti-genre indie pranksters SeepeopleS have been a band for 22 years. The band, which is the brainchild of bandleader/songwriter/producer Will Bradford, has released 5 full length albums and 2 EPs on their own imprint, RascalZRecordZ. It would be an accurate statement to say that there isn’t a single band on the planet that covers as much ground musically, or traverses through as many musical universes as SeepeopleS does. Musicians have long since taken notice and members of Morphine, Spearhead, Dave Matthews Band (Tim Reynolds), and even members of Parliament/Funkadelic are featured on previous albums. All seven records were co-produced by Will Holland (Pixies, New Pornographers, Dead Can Dance) “

Slow Fiction – “International Cherry”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “Slow Fiction is a band from New York City. Influenced by the likes of poets like Anne Waldman, Ted Berrigan and the New York School era as well as the spirit of early 2000s garage rock bands such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, and The Walkmen, the group delivers a blend of their influences and personal experiences in a raw and memorable way.”

girlhouse – “paul blart mall cop”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Pop

From the Artist: “The story is of me facing the ultimate dilemma as a person that has dealt with depression for a majority of their life, not wanting to live but not wanting to die.”

Jason Kent – “Do You Remember”

Country: Canada

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “The heart of my new single, “Do You Remember,” comes to you straight from 1975 with elements of George Harrison→ELO→America→Emmitt Rhodes…It’s about fears, coming of age and making your way through the maze.”

Low Lying Sun – “Hymn To Say Goodbye”

Country: UK

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “Hymn To Say Goodbye is about realising a relationship isn’t going to work, but you still love them and so it’s hard to make sense of it. It’s an ambitious grief, you’re both still there but what you had is gone. It’s a tragedy; like burning a masterpiece, it feels like armageddon. You try to move on without hurting the other person so you yourself, but you want them to know they are still important to you.”

Tooms – “Bit Part”

Country: New Zealand

Genre: Alt Rock

From the Artist: “Members Dorian Noval (Jazmine Mary, Natural Glow, Exit Fear), and Nich Cunningham (The Moonlight, Lost Rockets), offer up an uncouth and disheveled sound that is engaging and off-kilter with their intertwining Jekyll and Hyde vocals, fuzzy bass, and catastrophic drumming. Playing a distinct, idiosyncratic version of punk, they’ve opened for Sleaford Mods, Divide & Dissolve, Street Chant and The D4 to name a few.”

Jay Denton ft. Kissflame – “Quit”

Country: US

Genre: Pop Rock

From the Artist: “I started writing this song around a lead electric guitar riff I played, then the concept started coming to me pretty quickly – the idea of the most subtle and understated compliment of someone being the habit I’ll never quit, and where it’s the smallest thing she does that pulls me right back in. Kissflame, then, is a rising alternative rock and pop/punk duo in Los Angeles that I write and produce for, and I thought they’d be great on it. They loved the song, so we wrote the 2nd verse and bridge together, and it was a lot of fun to feature them before we drop their EP later this spring. Amanda Black, the lead singer, has a powerhouse voice…”

Les Cooper – “Noise”

Country: Canada

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “This song came out of a feeling of helplessness as I recognized my instinct to shield and protect them but struggled with the reality that that wasn’t my role,” explains Cooper. The jaunty piece of percussive indie rock/pop features string arrangements which Les wrote, inspired by the sounds of Saturday Night Fever, as the song’s narrator tries to talk someone down from a manic high”

The Vic Dean Band – “Coupon Girl”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

From the Artist: “COUPON GIRL our supermarket super heroine! Join me in this ultimate alt-rock roleplay grocery store fantasy!”

Homeschool – “Sleeping on the Ground”

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “‘Sleeping On The Ground’ captures specific memories of being in a touring band and the nostalgia of a life of travel, mild debauchery and crashing at strangers’ houses. The mood is one that aches for the simplicity and immediacy of that transient life, then shifts to a reflection on how those moments are truly measured and held. Is the love we feel for a person or a place measured by time or commitment, or is it measured by the weight and depth of shared moments, however brief? ‘The One That Got Away’ was a cover idea that came from a desire to find something ultra-poppy, pull the skeleton out and dress it in something completely different. Annie Blackman recommended we go with this track and the sense of longing and despair that Katy Perry is revealing seems a bit masked by the original upbeat production. We wanted to calm the song down and introduce sonic elements and vocal production that intimate a closeness and vulnerability, all accompanied by an enveloping feeling of ‘moving on’ served up by Quinn McGovern’s masterful arrangement.”

Slimdan – “Politics & Party Tricks”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “Politics and Party Tricks is a song about my experience of hating to go out while simultaneously desperately needing to be invited to things. I wrote this tune with my close ally Brian Brundage and we had a lot of fun writing the verse lyrics (particularly proud of the fact that I snuck in the word nonchalant lol). I then brought the idea to Ryan Linvill and we fleshed it out together over the summer of 2020. Shout outs to Ted Poor for ripping the drums on this record!”
