Strange Pink – “Total Nightmare”

Country: UK

Genre: Prog Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “I had the idea that it’s about exploitation, power, corruption all underneath these beautiful scenery. There’s a lot of cities like that, where it’s beautiful on the surface, but underneath it all, a total nightmare…” Bassist, Eddie Logie adds: “It reminds me of being in trouble as a kid for doing very kid like things. The scream is about the inner child not being able to handle it anymore from being too difficult around people and finally wanting to go home.” Dom Smith (drums) adds: “All I’ve ever wanted is to be thought of as someone that gave 110 per cent when playing, and this song, for me shows the unique energy and vibe that we all have when we click together. Eddie’s scream, Sam’s riffs and lyricism and my heart and soul in audio form. This is my favourite song, and probably the happiest I’ve ever been releasing something into the world.”

Baby Richman – “Shadows on the Wall”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “This is the follow up single to our debut! I typically don’t share what songs mean to me in particular however because I feel it takes away from your experience. But what I will say is that we had to record this song twice because all three of our hard drives were stolen from our car in a grocery store parking lot only 3 days after completion. It’s been a long and arduous journey but we finally made it. ”

The Carolyn – “empty.hollow.over.”

Country: US

Genre: Punk

Words From the Artist/PR: ““empty. hollow. over.” is a song about addiction, depression, and the slow deterioration of a relationship—and the uncomfortable overlap between all three. It came from a period where self-indulgence had become a way of avoiding a persistent sense of emptiness, while dissatisfaction and doubt were quietly taking over a relationship I still cared about. The song lives in that uncertainty: not knowing whether something around you is dying, or whether you’ve become too numb to feel it anymore.”

The Como Brothers – “Living in this Moment”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist/PR:  “the song comes from something I think about more and more as I get older—just how fragile life is and how much of a blessing every moment really is. You start to realize that these moments pass by, and once they’re gone, you don’t get them back. So there’s this feeling of wanting to really soak in where you are, who you’re with, and what you’re experiencing, while at the same time almost wishing you could make that moment last forever.”

MAXWELLTHEBAND – “Optimist”
Country: UK

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “Optimist is a song we wrote whilst preparing to go to the USA for The Fest. It’s all about trying to stay motivated in creating art and music in what currently feels like a pre-apocalypse! We’ve taken inspiration from AJJ and The Menzingers to create a really bleak but catchy song with a big chorus! We’ve also slipped references to loads of local bands around us in our scene to pay homage! We recorded this song (and a future single) in two days with our favourite people in Brighton at Small Pond and it was the most streamlined session we’ve done to date with the vocal taking a miraculously short time quoting Sam: ‘you can tell he really wants to get out of there because he’s nailing it’.”

Allegories – “Glorious Vanity”

Country: Canada

Genre: Shoegaze

Words From the Artist/PR: “Dreamy and immersive, “Glorious Vanity” captures the willingness to abandon a predetermined destination that came to define the record. Rather than protecting the original idea, Allegories allowed instinct and experimentation to dictate what the song needed to become, creating a particularly weightless entry point into an album shaped by discovery.”

—
Feathers & Arrows – “Monster Bride”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Metal

Words From the Artist/PR: “It’s a song about trauma, how trauma will always find you, and can essentially turn you into a monster.”

—
Rum Jungle – “The Elephants Head”

Country: Australia

Genre: Surf Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “Built from fragments collected across an international tour, “The Elephants Head” finds Rum Jungle pushing their distinctive sound into bigger and more adventurous territory. The first release from the four-piece’s new creative campaign, the track transforms the aftermath of their biggest London headline show into a euphoric yet reflective portrait of friendship, touring and the nights that seem too good to let end.”

—
test plan – “Signal”

Country: UK

Genre: Punk

Words From the Artist/PR: “A fixture of test plan’s live set for almost three years, ‘Signal’ hits the spot between dark goth-disco, techno and distorted noise-rock. Born out of a rehearsal room jam in 2023, ‘Signal’ has undergone countless transformations, moving between the rehearsal room and the stage and back, going through a long period of growing pains before finally taking shape. Originally dubbed ‘Techno Jam’, the song centres around a repetitive bassline that brings together test plan’s dance music mentality and noise-rock songwriting. Rory Dickinson’s thick bass keeps the track in constant motion, turning to blown-out distortion, whilst Mihalis Fragkiadakis’ guitar shifts from shimmering disco riffs to jagged chords and high-pitched squeals in the chorus. Max Mason’s pounding drums give the track a powerful backbone as his vocals grow increasingly enraged towards the final scream of “Give me a second, give me a second!””

—
Tim Godwin – “Just Drop It” (feat. Kira Teagan)

Country: Australia

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “This is an anti Trump anthem hailing from the Australian outback! Kira Teagan’s debut collab with Tim Godwin, join them as they run away to the outback to escape Trump’s nuclear war!”

—
COMA_54 – “Burning Up”

Country: Ireland

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “The latest offering sees the band lean again into their Punk influences, with some lines of similarity being drawn to “PunktEins”, the title track from their 2024 EP. A driving bass riff sparks the track into life, and relentlessly pushes throughout. The spitfire vocal depicts a world that seems happy to bury its head in the sand when surrounded by increasing chaos, whilst at the the same time underpins a call to unity in the face of division (“when we bleed we bleed the same”). In what is fast becoming a hallmark for the band, the chorus delivers a monster swipe, with ferocious guitars and punchy drums, and a hook that will stay with you for days. With “Burning Up” COMA_54 exude a feeling that in a sea of pandemonium, sometimes, simplicity really is the answer.”

—
Pernicious Nefarious – “Need for Greed”

Country: Australia

Genre: Punk

Words From the Artist/PR: “There’s no polish, no pretence and certainly no unnecessary fuss when it comes to Pernicious Nefarious. The Geelong outfit step things up with new single ‘Need for Greed’; a raw, no-frills blast of punk fuelled by sharp wit and a particularly blasé brand of angst.”
