Seven Layer Piano Cakes – “Remy”

Country: USA

Genre: Pop Rock

From The Artist: “upbeat dream pop with rock vibes. deliberate builds to the choruses and outro.”

Princexa – “Cut My Strings”

Country: USA

Genre: Alt Rock

From The Artist: “I wrote this song about a week before I headed off to college for the first time. I felt like I had made a mistake, and that my life wasn’t under my control. I was dealing with some of the worst depression and anxiety I had ever experienced, and I was in pain. This song came from that pain of feeling like I have no control over what happens in my life. A few months later I went to the studio for the first time to record this song. I recorded it with Portland producers Aaron Peterson and Nosila. It was a really great experience, and they helped me refine my song and make it beautiful.”

Letting Up Despite Great Faults – “She Spins”

Country: USA

Genre: Indie Pop

From The Artist: “”She Spins,” a jangly, swirling track backed by catchy drums and electric guitar riffs, is laden with introspective and vulnerable lyrics, as vocalist/guitarist Mike Lee questions the insecurity felt in a relationship. The last single before their long-awaited comeback album is released, “She Spins” offers a perfect encapsulation of the band today, returning to music with lyric-forward, refined, and shimmering tracks that reflects their growth, both as a band and as people. The album IV releases March 4.”

Mike Railey – “Lumberjack”

Country: USA

Genre: Indie Rock

From The Artist: “Lumberjack is the lead single from my upcoming album These Octagonal Eyes! I wrote it as a comparison between the life of a lumberjack and a songwriter. I spent some time learning logger’s terms and trying to picture myself in that world. The ‘axe’ that I’m sharpening in the chorus is a metaphor for my guitar, for example. It was a lot of fun putting this one together. When I was compiling songs for this record, I uploaded the demos to Rivers Cuomo’s (the lead singer of Weezer) website, and he said of the song, “Lumberjack is rad.””

Jei-Rynn – “Screaming Inside”

Country: USA

Genre: Indie Rock

From The Artist: ““Screaming Inside” is a post-pandemic, zillennial anthem that speaks to all of the pressing anxieties of the modern era, both personal and societal. Lyrically inspired by the recent threat of increased Asian-American hate crimes in America (the first line “stare at me like I’m a disease” was inspired by ugly looks Jei-Rynn received from strangers in the supermarket during the beginning of the pandemic), the song looks social silencing and young depression dead in the eye.”

Mike Legere – “Billboard”

Country: Canada

Genre: Indie Rock

From The Artist: “Recorded live off the floor at The Root Down Studio in Toronto, ON, “Billboard” is a highly relatable track in these extraordinary times we are living in, where anxiety is high and the information being collected and served back to us through our smartphones is seemingly never ending. “

CLWB FUZZ – “Sertraline”

Country: UK

Genre: Alt Rock

From The Artist: “Dread inducing drones, seasick synths and the band’s trademark fuzz provide the perfect soundtrack to singer Emily Kocan’s lyrics about her vivid & sometimes far too real dreams, which occurred as a side-effect of taking anti-depressants.”

Pink Laces – “Can’t We Rise”

Country: USA

Genre: Indie Rock

From The Artist: “Around conception of this song and the companion album, a huge inspiration for me was outer space and sci-fi elements (a la our first single Mr. Zero Gravity). For this song in particular, I envisioned a guy floating up into space and shedding all that holds him down, similar to the way a space shuttle sheds off boosters or whatever they’re technically called. I think the idea was to make a great song built around a tremolo. Some inspirations came from Savage Garden, The Smiths and even Kanye. That pulsing that all the instruments are doing just drive the track and prove an insane energy. It was all about capitalizing on that vibe.”

Boo Box – “Self Destruct”

Country: USA

Genre: Alt Rock

From The Artist: “We created this song for people who have a tendency to dwell on the negative things so much that it prevents them from moving forward. We made this song for those of us who need an extra push to be our best self.”

CAUSA – “HEDODAP”

Country: USA

Genre: Alt Rock

From The Artist: “The song HEDODAP is a shortened term for Hedonic Adaptation aka the Hedonic Treadmill. This is a concept that humans have that makes it so whatever “state” we are in, it becomes the new normal. For this reason, if you can’t recognize this and learn to create contentment in your current state, reaching for the next step will only provide a desire for a new step and satisfaction will not be reached. The song is a call to not stop stepping, but to “settle down” and find peace in the steps we are on as well, because there will always be another step.”

Breaking Serenity – “Alive”

Country: SA

Genre: Alt Rock

From The Artist: “About losing the passion for music and now returning and calling out people don’t want to see you succeed.”

Glass House Point – “Wash Me Over”

Country: USA

Genre: Indie Rock

From The Artist: ““Wash Me Over” reimagines the typical approach to alternative indie music. Slipping between scenes of entrancing lyricism, aggressive guitar work, and groovy rhythm – the sound is unmanufactured and unmatched. Soaring guitars, analog synths, and an untamed attitude meet to create a mysterious, world-building narrative about oppression and vulnerability.”

Jesse Roper – “Hold On Me”

Country: Canada

Genre: Americana

From The Artist: “I wrote “Hold On Me” because my manager asked me politely to try and write a hit. I don’t know what makes a hit and I’ve never written one but I thought I’d try and oblige him. I came up with the chorus while I was standing outside watering my garden. I just blurted it out and as I was singing, my roommate drove by me and shouted “Atta boy, Ropes! Sounds great!” I decided this would be the first building block for the song.”

Van Bellman – “Fate Lies Ahead”

Country: USA

Genre: Rock

From The Artist: ““Fate Lies Ahead” is a grab life-by-the-horns dirty bluesy rocker. Co-written by Van Bellman and Zac Barnett (lead singer of multi platinum band American Authors), “Fate Lies Ahead” is the moody story of not knowing what the road ahead has in store, and having no choice but to put the pedal to the metal and find out. Fate lies ahead, where your heart meets your guts, where you will find out what you’re made of. The future never tells the truth much anyway. Imagine White Stripes meets QOTSA with a hint of Jeff Buckley. This is the second single from the debut Van Bellman EP Feelers, due out in 2022. “

Worst Coast – “Missing the Magic”

Country: USA

Genre: Indie Rock

From The Artist: “This song is about going through the motions because you think you’re supposed to even though something doesn’t feel right.”
