It’s Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, and we’ve got mini-reviews for eight new tracks that’ll go well with your turkey, tofurkey, or socially distanced pizza order.

Hunger – “Butter”

Here’s a song about something I care deeply for… butter. Ok, so it’s not actually about butter, but it’s called “Butter”, and that’s cool too. It’s a great indie rock song with poppy vibes and a lighthearted feel. Get ready to sway and/or dance.

Keegan Powell – “Rock ‘n Roll Kind of Night”

Chastity guitar player, Keegan Powell strikes out on a solo project – here’s his latest single. An indie rock bop with some grunge elements that I’m diggin’ a lot.

Wicked Sadie – “High Road”

Canadian band Wicked Sadie just released their latest track, “an upbeat call to action to get out of doomed relationships”. I’m liking this one a lot, and am ready to dive into the rest of their discography.

Ryan Cassata – “i’m your little desert rat”

Catchy folk rock that I couldn’t help but dig immediately. It’s simple and pared down, and that’s what I like most about it. Check out this bedroom recording from Ryan Cassata.

Pocket Vinyl – “Welcome Fear”

Here’s something a little different from our usual tracks – “Welcome Fear” start with a moody, lo-fi sound that drew me in, and then built up into a louder synth crescendo. Have a listen!

Phantom Atlantic – “No Way To Live”

Here’s a brand new track from Toronto alt-rock band Phantom Atlantic – “No Way to Live” is an energetic yet moody song, with “pounding steam-engine-guitar grit”.

Glass Waves – “Do It Again”

Next up we have a great new tune from the UK’s Glass Waves – “Do It Again” is a high energy alt rock tune, with a killer blend of heaviness and melody.

MILLY – “Star Thistle Blossom”

This track gives me some nostalgic feelings – it’s got some 90s shoegaze-y elements with a modern dream pop/indie rock twist. Check out the newest single from MILLY!
