Shelf Lives – “All Grown Up”

Country: UK

Genre: Post-punk

Words From the Artist/PR: “With All Grown Up we’re offering listeners a relatable journey that explores the nature of personal growth, self-acceptance and the complexities of navigating societal expectations. ‘Growing up’ is challenging, no matter the specifics. You can’t escape the societal pressures that inevitably shape your identity. You can end being on auto-pilot, where you may feel like you’re going through the motions without truly being present or connected to your own desires and passions. You get pushed into an internal and external battle of pursuing your authenticity vs. conforming. It gets crowded when you step in line but we’ve been socialized to believe that it gets lonely standing out from the crowd.”

Pseudo Cool – “Ask No Questions”

Country: UK

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “The anthem to revolt against the apathy epidemic. Pseudo Cool takes aim at the structures that control cognisance and encourage listeners to ask whether life is, in fact, their own.”

TV People – “Feel”

Country: Ireland

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: ‘Feel’ is a heartfelt and honest expression of emotional repression, vulnerability, pain, denial and healing, which was written during an intense period of personal crisis as a way to make sense of and process overwhelming emotions. The song highlights the perspective of a person who is embarking on a journey to achieve personal growth and inner peace by embracing emotional honesty, vulnerability and self acceptance.

29 East – “Close Your Eyes”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: The second single of their upcoming debut EP. Close Your Eyes is a catchy and somber track that explores the care you hold for a loved one.

David Hobbes – “Measure of Degree”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: When I write a song, often a line comes to me and it’s not until later that I understand what the song is about. This song is one of those. It started off as just a play on words: “She was always wrong, became a writer.” And then it turned into a window on two people in a relationship desperately trying to prove to themselves they are not who they fear themselves to be.

Joey Maxwell – “Shoelaces”

Country: UK

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: Video shot and directed by Jamie Waters AKA JAW – well known for his work with Jazmin Bean, Bring Me The Horizon, Sam Fender etc. and for generally being very sick at what he does in the rock world Audio itself is disgustingly hooky, a track about social anxiety and was the catalyst for his genre change. Will be the cover of Dork’s Hype Playlist to land with the release this week, previous support from the usual suspects Clash / NME / Notion / LOBF etc

The Bankes Brothers – “C’est La Vie”

Country: Canada

Genre: Folk Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “C’est La Vie,” the third single to be shared, drew inspiration from artists like Paul Simon Graceland, Talking Heads, and Little Joy to take on more of a Lo-fi character that helps distinguish the song in the collection. The Bankes Brothers approached the lyrics with a more phonetic approach to tell a story that also gets listeners moving.

Wolftrap – “Angeline”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: Angeline is the third song off our debut EP “The Good Side”. It’s a folk rock banger with a western surf twang. I wrote the song when I was losing my mind over a complicated relationship that felt meant to be but kept getting derailed. We tracked it at Sound Hound Studios in LA with producer Sam Plecker.

Hidden Horizon – “The Dark Crushing Me”

Words From the Artist/PR: ”The Dark Crushing Me” is about searching for truth when everything is a lie. It has kind of a foreboding, slightly creepy feel to it especially during the break down.
