Cowboy Destroy – “Dirty”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

From the Artist: “When you go through a breakup you get dirty.”

Ebba Bergkvist & The Flat Tire Band – “Liam’s Basement”

Country: Sweden

Genre: Garage Rock

From the Artist: “Liam’s Basement is a high energy rock’n’roll song about our beloved bandcat Liam who passed this February due to heart issues. Liam lived with three out of four bandmates and he was – in our opinion- the greatest cat that ever walked the earth. The song is released via Amuse on May 6th, together with a music video made out of homevideos of Liam, and a release gig where the major part of the gage will be donated to a cat shelter. Liam’s Basement is how we want to remember Liam – full of life, sweet but rock’n’roll, and as something that makes us happy.”

Radio Aftermath – “Cup of Coffee in the Big Time”

Country: UK

Genre: Alt Rock

From the Artist: “Lead single for a forthcoming EP, noisy intro track, short, sharp and energetic main single, moody b-side!”

Cat Ryan – “Rex Mundi”

Country: UK

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “The musical basis for the song arose from a fun bassline I created with a midi keyboard. With the addition of the upbeat drums, it evolved into a fast-paced song which, naturally, called for lyrics with a fast-moving theme – hence the greyhounds! In terms of the lyrics, these came about after visiting my aunt and uncle nearby, where I learned that they’d recently got a new greyhound named ‘Rex Mundi’ (Latin for ‘King of the World’), which instantly resonated with me and, as greyhounds are known for their speed, it seemed like a perfect theme to fit with the musical vibe.”

Merit Maker – “Deal Breaker”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

From the Artist: “A song from the recently released Merit Maker EP “Breaking Edge”. Stylistically this track is very reminiscent of the punk rock music from bands in the late 90’s and early 00’s. Fast, hard hitting with some melodic elements sprinkled in. Surely a revival of the nostalgic sound for a new era.”

The Satellite Station – “Bloom”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Pop

From the Artist: “‘Bloom’ is an ode to the person in who our life who makes us want to be a better person. It was produced by Tyler Thompson (WILD, GIRLHOUSE) and mastered by Grammy nominated Dan Millice.”

Brendan Scott Friel – “Through The Rain”

Country: Canada

Genre: Folk

From the Artist: “Musician Brendan Scott Friel and JUNO-winning producer James Bunton (Donovan Woods, Joey Landreth) have teamed up again for “Through The Rain,” which sees Friel continue to push at the edges of his sound and genre by trading his signature acoustic guitar for a piano. “Sometimes, not really knowing how to play the instrument you’re writing on can be a great thing for unlocking ideas,” Friel explains about the first of a double single release. “I remember hearing Sting talk about what a creepy song ‘Every Breath You Take’ actually is, yet everyone dances to it at their wedding. Something about that really tickled me, so this song is very much a wink at that.”

Carleton Stone – “Papercut”

Country: Canada

Genre: Singer Songwriter

From the Artist: “Based out of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Carleton Stone is an award-winning artist, a songwriter with a growing list of credits, and a founding member of the group Port Cities. Ahead of his new solo release this June 2022, Stone has shared the latest single, “Papercut.” Written with collaborators Mo Kenney and Kayleigh O’Connor, it’s upbeat with a driving acoustic guitar part like a Tom Petty song, but the darker lyrics juxtapose the music. The title “Papercut” encapsulates the emotions of the character in this song – obviously not very happy with his current situation, he seems to be going through the motions in a life that isn’t completely terrible, but just slightly painful and annoying like a “Papercut.”

The Upsides – “Undercover Retro”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist:  “The Upsides are a 4-piece rock act based in New York City, consisting of brothers Matt and Dan Fullam with longtime friends Matt DaSilva and Hart Mechlin. The guitars from Matt Fullam and Mechlin blend the Strokes with early ‘70s Heartbreakers tones, while the younger Fullam (drums) and DaSilva (bass) incorporate uptempo, danceable grooves that are reminiscent of the early aughts rock revival in their home city. Fullam’s vocals are a focal point in both the live and studio settings, as he effortlessly flips from a croon to a falsetto whether the band behind him is in a downtempo groove à la The Rolling Stones’ ‘Angie’ or electrifying the audience with overdriven, Queens of the Stone Age-esque tenacity. “

Bella Marcy – “Versailles”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “‘Versailles’ is a song of overwhelming love and yearning. As a music industry major at UCLA, she studies a variety of topics and was inspired by a class lecture on the history of art in France, learning about the intricacies of the Palace of Versailles – more specifically, the Hall of Mirrors. Expecting a call from her boyfriend, Bella’s new knowledge of art history melded into her personal thoughts. As she waited by the phone, she wrote the demo and reflected. ‘Versailles’ encapsulates the beauty and refinement of the French palace and employs its elaborate embellishments as a metaphor for the complexity of love.”

JEEN – “On And On”

Country: Canada

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: ““On and On,” the first single to be shared from Tracer, is a gritty roller coaster ride which embodies the immediacy and urgency of now framed by a distorted and echoed vocal.”

The Reflections – “River Road”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “This song was created in the midst of the pandemic as we sought refuge away from NYC to the Catskills in upstate NY. It’s a reflection on our time connecting with nature as well as the nature of life. We lived on the Delaware River and watched as the river was ever-flowing, through the seasons and through the times. This song shares that new perspective coupled with music influenced by 90s era crunchy guitars and melodic hooks.”

Red Relations – “Circle of Diamonds”

Country: Denmark

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: ““Circle of Diamonds” is an energetic, solid, and ponderous rock song. Punchy drum fill, low-key verse and heavy bass. Hot atmosphere and dirty guitars are guaranteed along with desireful lyrics about the forbidden and – not least – the fun.”

Ty Gold – “Magical Trip”

Country: Argentina

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “A song about going crazy writing a song”

The Ego Trippers – “Christmas in July”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

From the Artist: “Musically the song to me sounds like a grungy Zeppelin song. I’d been listening to a lot of 90’s stuff as well as big 70’s guitar rock and I wanted to combine my favorite aspects of both. Also our sound has filled out a lot since we’ve added Jo on percussion and Jack on rhythm guitar and keys so we wanted to write something energetic and grand that showcased our new lineup.”
