Twenty Centuries of Stony Sleep – “Bad Blood”

Country: Canada

Genre: Indie Rock

From The Artist: “Twenty Centuries of Stony Sleep’s member Jamie’s husband Chuck Gould wrote this fast-paced song to balance out the album which already had a number of mid-tempo and a couple slower songs. It was written in such a way that, when performed by TCOSS, he imagined it might fit in well with the band’s already existing material. For lyrical content, Chuck was inspired by the Kingsmen’s ‘Louie Louie,’ a song which is notoriously incomprehensible. Chuck liked the idea that lyrics can be misunderstood, or even left completely unfinished, and the listener can, and will, fill in the gaps.”

Never Heavy – “Sensation”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

From The Artist: “Bright and bouncy indie rock song about finding something or someone new”

Leon In The Wold – “Track Shoes”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

From The Artist: “From his house near the sunny beaches of Northern California, Leon in the Wild has been quietly creating lofi indiepop music with influences ranging from super-bands like The Beatles and The Beach Boys to 90s heroes like Grandaddy, Eels, and Built to Spill. “I’ve always made music while staying in the background,” says Leon. “I’ve always been the guitarist, the producer/engineer, the person mixing/mastering, background vocalist, etc. This is my first step into the wild as myself. “

The Man Who – “Cage”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

From The Artist: “Groovy new single, “Cage,” captures a real emotion that The Man Who were feeling at the time. It was the first song they wrote after parting ways with the label they were signed to. There were no hard feelings at all, and this is in no way a “dis track,” but when you are young and thrown into an unfamiliar situation, there can be a lot of excitement mixed with a lot of confusion, and sometimes it just takes a bit of a hard hit to be able to see things straight.”

Mountain Head – “Backseat”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

From The Artist:  “The lead single off the EP is the title track, “Backseat.” It’s a blend of subversive pop-infused dance beats and groovy guitar riffs, disrupting the notions of rock music. The song beckons a contemplative state, and has a longing for some sort of order out of the vast vacuum that COVID-19 created around the world and especially amongst the artist community. This song is passive and aims to put the listener in the backseat so they can take a breath and listen. ”

Pamphlets – “Shut Tight”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

From The Artist: “Formed in the basement of a dive bar, Pamphlets may be pretty fresh to the scene, but they have already caused quite a stir. With Daniel on drums, Ben on bass, and Jeremy on guitar/vox, this Brooklyn trio draws their ferocity from influences such as Gang Of Four and B Boys while also incorporating the raw lyricism of Life Without Buildings and Ought.”

Dear Dario – “Name”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

From The Artist: “Dear Dario is a hard-hitting rock band from Chicago, IL specializing in buzzing riffs, powerful vocals, and heart-pounding rhythms. Established in 2016, the original act has been filling venues all around Chicago. With their artistic style and high-energy performances, Dear Dario creates an extraordinary atmosphere at every show. “

Faster on Fire – “The Basics”

Country: US

Genre: Pop Rock

From The Artist:  “North Carolina, pop-punk duo Faster On Fire has shared their infectiously catchy single, “The Basics.” Drawing influence from a relationship filled with ups and downs, and ultimately, coming to an end, “The Basics” describes a turmoil situation that was never able to meet the basics of what is necessary between partners. While the group is deeply rooted in the North Carolina pop-punk scene, “The Basics” explores their fluidity as artists and puts drummer/vocalist Alex Gabor’s writing on full display.”

Ian Lake – “Fishing For Promises”

Country: Canada

Genre: Singer Songwriter

From The Artist: “The song is about unrequited love, and feeling misunderstood,” said Ian. “It’s an imagined conversation that will never take place. What would I say if I actually got the chance to explain myself to the person who’s been occupying my mind? The song is equal parts clinging to hope, and calmly accepting whatever comes.”

Leah Dunn – “Wrong Place”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

From The Artist: “Designated Drivers Lament. A story of a sober St. Patrick’s day and snarky introspection.”

The Terrible Texan – “Call To The Aliens”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

From The Artist:  “The song is about a dude trying to contact aliens, but things go awry and the aliens enslave the human race.”

James Richard Read – “Mess”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

From The Artist: “Mess is about a chaotic mindset, feeling caged in a world that you can’t seem to figure out.”

Kate Clover – “Heaven Down Here”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

From The Artist: “‘Heaven Down Here’ is the most jangle pop inspired cut from the album, inspired by the melancholic punk sound of The Saints and the C86 cassette compilation. Lyrically, the song is about accepting one’s place in life and feeling content even when your choices are looked down upon.”

Royal Canoe – “Worm”(ft. Dill the Giant)

Country: Canada

Genre: Indie Rock

From The Artist: “Vault (2011-2021) is a collection of 10 songs that were pulled from a long list of unreleased demos, B-sides and oddities that have been accumulating on our various hard-drives over the past decade. These songs are the underdogs, the overachievers and the almost-fits that we just couldn’t quit. During this past winter we dusted off old backups, scoured mp3-vaults and even went back to the studio to finish up a few tracks that were uncompleted but long-time favourites of the band. For us, each song on Vault feels like a brief journal entry that captures a simple, but meaningful moment from the past decade of us making sounds together.”

Double Rider – “Echoes of the Past”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

From The Artist: “”Echoes of the Past” was written by Matthew Many Heads—the late grandfather of Double Rider (Hannah and Lennon Owlchild, and Erin Manyheads). Matthew Manyheads was a residential school survivor of nine years, leading him to express his passions, sorrows, etc., through music. “
