The New Righteous Mood – “Yr Memory”

Country: UK

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “Drawing from a multitude of inspirations, namely Guided By Voices, Parquet Courts, Jay Reatard, The Cribs and Buzzcocks, The New Righteous Mood return with their uninhibited blend of post-punk oriented indie rock. Conjured up during the pandemic, ‘Yr Memory’ serves as the opening statement on the Moseley-based quartet’s upcoming EP ‘Wasp Stings’ Recorded live in one session at a Black Country steel mill by Thom Edwards of local legends God Damn, this raw session is an honest declaration of the writers’ inner consciousnesses.”

Amateur Hockey Club – “Boxed Wine”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

From the Artist: “Amateur Hockey Club explores a more pop-rock sound on their new track “Boxed Wine.” Lyrically, the track explores a relationship of convenience that wasn’t that great to begin with and hasn’t improved with age- instead of aging like a fine wine in a cellar, it’s aging like a box of Franzia that’s been left in the sun. The huge hook and pristine production is meant to make the listener want to roll their windows down and scream along. Thick harmonies and gushy guitars create a warm atmosphere.”

Web Hues – “Street Spell”

Country: US

Genre: Post-Punk

From the Artist: “Street Spell was produced by Deerhunter bassist Josh McKay, mixed by Jason Kingsland (Belle & Sebastian, Deerhunter, Washed Out), and mastered by Glenn Schick (Future, Phoebe Bridgers, Jack Harlow). Early listeners to the song have really enjoyed the cascading, kaleidoscopic energy of the 1:22 mark.”

Sergio Napoletano – “Memory Aisle”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “This song is about self-reflection and change. We dwell on the past and hopefully learn from it. However, sometimes we disguise ourselves so much that we don’t even remember who we were.”

Damn Renegades – “Blitzed”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

From the Artist: “Hailing from the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia Pennsylvania, up and coming grunge rockers Damn Renegades are looking to revitalize rocks most intense and head banging genre: GRUNGE”

Kadeema – “Lately I’ve Been Hoping”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

From the Artist: “The song was written in a period where everyone didn’t get to see much of anyone other than the people they lived with. We couldn’t do anything outside with people, so in a way, music was our only escape. After writing the song and establishing a demo, Kadeema sent what they had to their friend Isaac Carpenter (AWOLNATION) who produced their previous releases. This was the first time that the band worked on music remotely with him. “

Boss Rush – “Vagabond Inn”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “Vagabond Inn is a reflection on the broken aspects of society and how our health systems, government, and even our families can let us down. We believe that anyone who is sick should have easy access to medicine, and this song supports that. We love the quick, punchy vibe of the tune and the unique delivery of the lyrics. It’s a short song that uses its dynamics to grab and keep your attention till the last second. “

Rich – “You Don’t Care”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Pop

From the Artist: “An update on rising NYC based artist RICH, who is set to reveal new single ‘You Don’t Care’ and a cover of Outkast smash, ‘Ms Jackson’ on June 9th. A gorgeous R&B cut showcasing RICH’s dreamy vocals atop intricate beats, ‘You Don’t Care’ is a groover for the summer months. “

Joynoise – “Pollen”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

From the Artist:  “Their new song “Pollen,” marks the start of what would be a “new” Joynoise. It represents the start of a completely different band moving forward. The song is influenced by the actions of frontman Koch as well as other friends around him. It’s basically detailing the narrator’s descent into insanity as they desperately cry for help. “

Matt Moody – “Shifting Moonlight”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “I wrote this song while staying in Monument Valley, AZ. The initial inspiration came to me while driving on the open road and staring at the butte’s in what seemed like a martian landscape. A school bus whizzed past us and I told my girlfriend in the passenger seat to jot down some lyrics that came to mind. I sat down later that day and finished writing it in our camper we spent the night in. It’s about facing mortality and sums up the general feeling of spiritualness one experiences in a place as transcendent as monument valley. It poses the question; what lies behind the veil on the other side of death?”

Small Opera – “Uncle Is Freezing”

Country: Canada

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “This song is an exploration on how the state of our hearts creates the world we see around us. The song asks “will my love be centred on the right one”. Are our hearts pre-occupied with the right things”

The Forest Effect – “To A Heartbeat”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

From the Artist: “Mixed by tastemaking engineer Paul Q Kolderie (Radiohead, Portugal. The Man, The Cure), “To a Heartbeat” is a pent-up indie-rock track that captures the feeling true love creates when everything feels cosmically in place. Drawing on influences such as Biffy Clyro, Death Cab for Cutie, and Manchester Orchestra, songwriter Elliot Page pairs blasts of driving melodic guitar with an extraordinary drum take by Joe Lazarus (Vennart, Circa Waves, Twin Atlantic) and layers on shimmering vocal harmonies.”

A.N.J.A. – “A-Bomb”

Country: UK

Genre: Alt Rock

From the Artist: ““A-Bomb” is inspired by real life predators and power imbalances. The lyrics are a journey through dirty cityscapes and outskirts of depraved humanity. The song dances around the inevitability of human decay. Crime lingering around every corner. It’s a criticism of messed up humanity, oppression, and danger within a superficial society where the incapabilities of law enforcement and failed justice systems are ubiquitous and grinding. Saying that, I don’t take myself – and especially my artistry- too seriously. My music is supposed to entertain. It’s supposed to be fun and after all, I’m doing what I love most. ”

Teenage Fiction – “Countertransference”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

From the Artist: “Countertransference is a phenomenon that occurs when a therapist’s emotions are triggered by some aspect of their relationship with a client. This song is about the build up of emotion and secondary traumatic stress involved in trying to help someone who either won’t – or can’t – be helped. Tension, powerlessness, and anxiety. Wrapped in a bubblegum-grunge musical package.”

Catcher – “Behind A Bleeding Heart”

Country: US

Genre: Post-Punk

From the Artist: “Today, NYC post-punk group Catcher share a self-directed music video for “Behind a Bleeding Heart,” the final single off their debut album, The Fat of a Broken Heart (released earlier this year). Via their new visual, the track is translated into a hazy world of raucous live fervor, a perfect example of the homegrown greatness this group is capable of.”
