Honeycrush – “Milk Teeth”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From PR: Honeyyycrush explores the nature of power and pain in ‘Milk Teeth,’ a searing post-grunge ode to love lost and the struggle to move on. Sometimes, the things we cling hardest to are the ones we need most desperately to shed, as is the case with the central figure in ‘Milk Teeth,’ the title track off of New York artist Honeyyycrush’s debut EP. The tone throughout ‘Milk Teeth’ is uneasy, even as the song glides toward its glittering crescendo. Honeyyycrush’s raw vocal performance underscores the desperation of picking up the pieces after a fraught breakup. We’ve all felt the desire to stay in our pain, at least for a moment, before finding a way to heal and ‘Milk Teeth’ delivers a tension throughout that places us firmly in that liminal space: not wanting to go but needing to, like standing in the doorway with a box of your things, knowing it’s the last time you’ll be there. As the lyrics reveal, “Tender is the hole in my head/ You reach in a finger and you wag it at the ways/ I misled,” no one is precluded from inflicting pain; being left doesn’t mean you can’t do your own form of leaving, spitting venom on the way out. ‘Milk Teeth’ asks the listener to consider the relationship between that pain and growth: Is growth always painful? Is it a hurt we’ve inflicted upon ourselves? When a relationship ends, is it harder to lose each other or to face yourself?

Elle Belle – “Gone Are The Days”

Country: US

Genre: Indie rock

Words From the Artist: “‘Gone are the Days,’ with its nostalgic lyrics with upbeat backdrop, offers listeners a heartfelt journey through time with humor and infectious energy. The song is about the world we inherited from our parents and how we were set up to fail. It’s about disillusionment, war, and getting older. “

FLEABATH – “Swamp Trainwreck”

Country: US

Genre: Garage Rock

Words From the Artist: “Daniel Rastatter Bassist from FLEABATH here. I wrote this song on bass guitar. Lyrics are loosely based on Elmer McCurdy a train bandit and how the Wash DC rail system can make you want to be one. I finalized the bass solo during live performances around town. This is the 2nd single off our EP “F IS FOR” FLEABATH which was recorded at Absolute Future Studios in Richmond, Va. and will be released 06/30/23.”

Jonah Kagen – “The Roads”

Country: US

Genre: Folk Rock

Words From the Artist: ““’The Roads’ is one of those songs I feel like I’ve been working toward for so long,” Jonah writes. “It’s the culmination of so much heartbreak, so much growing up, and so much learning. Some of my favorite lyrics and sounds I’ve ever created are in this song, and I think the story speaks for itself—I hope you can feel the years of emotion and human experience pouring out in it.”

Sean King – “Cellophane”

Country: Australia

Genre: Singer-songwriter

Words From the Artist: “Everybody’s relationships have their ups and downs, this song depicts that situation. When everything turns to flames, it can be for a myriad of reasons.”

Eyesore & The Jinx – “No More Nails”

Country: UK

Genre: Post-Punk

Words From the Artist: “When setting out to write our debut album, I didn’t have a theme in mind. Instead I chose to write about whichever subject felt most pertinent at the time. Over the course of several months though, it became clear that there was a consistent thread amongst the songs regarding control or lack thereof, particularly in relation to the human body. For as long as I can remember I’ve bitten my finger nails compulsively, often til they bleed. Lately they have resembled what a close family member called ‘cornflakes’ owing to their gross, little, distorted shape. It’s a habit I’ve tried to shake many times, but have failed at. I’ve speculated as to why I do this, and I don’t think it’s too much of a leap to assume that this is a symptom of an ongoing anxiety disorder. ‘No More Nails’ then, is a song about compulsive behaviours and how we use our bodies to map our brains’ complex internal processes. It’s also a song about my gross, little cornflake fingernails that I’ve bitten into oblivion, and will likely continue to do so for the rest of my days.”

Gnarwhal – “Sleepwalkers”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “Sleepwalkers stands out from the other tracks on our album as its a bit more melodic and pop-based. The guitar melody and rhythm structure is influenced by classic grunge vibes and the bridge breakdown has more of a fast paced stoner-rock feel.” (

Western Jaguar – “Darling”

Country: Canada

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From PR: Darling is the third single from Western Jaguar’s newest record, OBLIVION. Darling was written prior to Trainor’s wedding to his wife on June 29th, 2021. Now, on the 2 year anniversary of their wedding, Darling makes its debut in Western Jaguar’s catalogue. Darling explores commitment and love as well as highlighting the excitement of finally arriving at such an amazing moment in life. This is perfectly highlighted in the songs opening line: I’ve been waiting all my life to say, “Good Morning, Darling” This cheery lyricism is a departure from Western Jaguar’s usual exploration of life’s darkest themes, however, with the instrumentation remaining similar to other tracks on the album, Trainor felt it did not feel out of place to add it to his latest release.

Bumble B. Boy – “Engelbert The Fool I”

Country: Netherlands

Genre: Garage Rock

Words From PR: Bumble B. Boy reaches down DEEP into the annals of children’s entertainment history to bring you the story of Engelbert the Fool, a medieval court jester with a story of woe and tragedy. With cacophonous fuzzy guitars that bellow like an angry mob and rhythmic percussive beats that bite like venomous snakes, there’s no escaping the SEISMIC FORCE of this new single

Johnny Cattini – “Cut The Cords”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “Half of me would love to throw my phone in the ocean while the other half accepts this technology is necessary to function in the modern world. Cut the cords is about the frustration I’ve had with myself and social media. Conversations I’ve had over the past couple of years made me realize my friends were also feeling unfilled in the same way. This song is about what would happen if we collectively departed from the virtual world and embraced the real world with more attention. Ultimately, this song made me realize the answer for me was finding a better balance – to be aware of when my phone was corrupting my sense of reality but also see the positives of communicating with people I love and that’s what I wanted this song to capture.”
