the dirty nil

The boys in The Dirty Nil have returned with new music, this time going back to basics with a raw, stripped-down Nil style reminiscent of their earlier years. Ahead of a brand new album, The Lash, they’ve just released the LP’s first single, “Gallop of the Hounds”.

While some of the band’s recent releases have dialled in to more of a glam rock style than their older work, “Gallop of the Hounds” harkens back to early Nil. An in-your-face rock-meets-punk anthem with intense riffs and relentless energy, it’s a song about self-reckoning and revenge, with a sound to match.“The verses are very celebratory, but then the chorus is about that sinking feeling that’s waiting for you,” says vocalist/guitarist, Luke Bentham.

Their new album is due out on July 25th, and features ten urgent and electrifying tracks. About the album, drummer Kyle Fisher jokes, “I’ve been telling people that this is Luke’s therapy record“.

You can pre-save The Lash here, and catch the band on tour all through the summer.
