Civillia – “Glass”
Country: US
Genre: Alt Rock
Words From the Artist: “Glass” was written, recorded, and mixed entirely by the band in early 2023. The song’s lyrics deal with the anxiety of adulthood and of watching friends and loved ones go through their own victories, failures, anxieties, illnesses, deaths, etc. – and ultimately accepting the lack of control we have over inevitable things.

Zoe Ko – “Baby Teeth”
Country: US
Genre: Pop Rock
Words From the Artist: The tooth fairy doesn’t exist, life can be so goddamn hard, and honestly a good chunk of my 22 years on this dying planet were pretty shit and emotionally traumatic. And now, somehow I’m expected to be a functioning adult in society. Like so much of this upcoming EP, I wrote the single “Baby Teeth” as an introspective song calling myself out for holding onto bad habits, past traumas and deep seated insecurities. I went through so many changes in my life in the past year and a half and finally stepped into the person I was supposed to be. Growth and transformation is a terrifying process because it means you have to let go of a lot of shit from your past. Stuff that made you who you are, whether those be good or bad. In the first verse I dive into my experience with severe ostracized bullying in High School. Very literally my popular mean girl bully was named Jenny and her friends wrote my name or the nickname “Zoe Hoe” on the bathroom stalls and walls of the school. The rumors about me felt taller than Mount Everest at times, thus the lyric, “you should really see the view from up here.”

Hit Bargain – “Degree Decree”
Country: US
Genre: Indie Rock
Words From the Artist: In “Degree Decree”, they lope through a frenetic climate dystopia in a manner that recalls the ghosts of angst rockers The Blood Brothers and the art school agitation of Erase Errata.

Kito Rayburn – “All In A Moment” (feat. The Dead Cassettes & Sabelle)
Country: US
Genre: Alt Rock
Words From the Artist: I think I wrote this song to help process the guilt I felt after breaking up with my partner of 9 years. I never felt like I had a good reason to end the relationship but it was something I knew in my gut was the right decision. I was also marveling at how a decision you make in a moment can change the course of the rest of your life. I decided to use ocean imagery because the hits in the post chorus remind me of waves crashing.

Stranded – “Vacant Spirits”
Country: US
Genre: Post-Punk
Words From the Artist: “Vacant Spirits” is a hyped up nervy, psychedelic post-punk song filled with paranoia and yearning. Spiky guitars and moody vocals ride on top of an energetic beat that doesn’t let up until the song is finished. You get the energy of Clinic mixed with the moodiness of Interpol in a tight two and a half minute explosion.

jrdfllrmn – “nothing!”
Country: US
Genre: Shoegaze
Words From the Artist: The debut album from Youngstown, Ohio-based artist jrdfllrmn, albatross is a dreamy production with explorations into shoegaze, pop, and rock. The project of Jared Fullerman touts a hooky, atmospheric glow throughout — balancing more subdued, contemplative soundscapes with moments of intensely textural effervescence. Fullerman wrote, arranged, performed, produced, mixed, and mastered all tracks on the album.

Shelby Smoak – “Hey There Devil”

—
