Wide Arches – “Sadness Wears Her Prettiest Dress”

Country: Canada

Genre: Singer-songwriter

Words From the Artist:  “The entirety of the album was recorded individually by the musicians at their respective home studios. Throughout my career, I have been lucky enough to record in professional studios, but at the time it seemed like the only option to continue making music, and it led me to personally invest in learning to properly record at home. That in turn sparked a deep-dive into recording, mixing and producing. I began studying how to mix and record, reading books and handbooks for countless hours, listening to podcasts, watching videos online and (my favourite) trying it out through hands-on trial-and-error. The result of all this ended up being a process of over three years preparing this album for release. I ended up mixing and producing the album, and learning a lot — for which I am so grateful! I had the record mastered by Justin Gray of Immersive Mastering/Synthesis Sound, who is an absolute gem to the music scene! “

Be – “Be Me”

Country: Ireland

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: It is a song about the need to keep independent thought and stay true to yourself no matter what this closed minded society we live in thinks, you dont have to conform, be yourself (be me)

A Beacon School – “Alone”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “Alone” is about the moment when you feel like your luck is finally turning. Even though nothing’s been working out, you get the faintest glimmer of hope and grab on to it as tight as you can.”

Wake up in the cosmos – “When I Was Ten”

Country: Italy

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: When I was ten is a song about childhood’s freedom. It’s a thoughtless ride marked by garage rhythm and dirty guitar that culminates in an explosion final.

No More Blues Tomorrows – “Chaperone”

Country: US

Genre: Garage Rock

Words From the Artist: In the timeless tradition of many great songwriters before us, this song was drunkenly written outside a truck stop in Texas.

Dinnersworth – “Apart”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: This is my first single! The voicemail in the intro and outro is my little brother. I write, perform, and mix everything about my music in my Minnesota basement.

Skyuka – “Houseplants”

Country: Australia

Genre: Indie rock

Words From the Artist: “‘Houseplants’ is definitely the first angry song I’ve released, and it feels great. It’s about having complete, utter disappointment in someone and a lack of communication making you question everything to the point that you drive yourself crazy, creating your own narratives that may not even exist. ‘Houseplants’ originally started with just a bass line that I wrote and from there came the melody quite easily. I was having a terrible night mentally, so the salty lyrics just poured out of me. I then programmed some synth and recorded my vocals from home. My brother (Token Friend) put down live bass and guitar; and did a lot of layering in parts to really build the tension. We both then went to Debaser Studios with Jasper Emmitt Miller who put down live drums. We were very grateful to then have Andy Lawson steer the track in the right direction with his production and mixing skills.”

Repeat – “Repeat”

Country: Sweden

Genre: Rock

Words From the Artist: “The idea behind the album is to provide a short and explosive experience of repetitive aggressive songs. We truly prefer the short formats and a direct presence. The mix of stoner rock and alternative rock with loud very fuzzy guitars, rumbling bass, and aggressive yet stiff drums, bring a unique progressive style of our own.”

Give In – “Venmo”

Country: US

Genre: Rock

Words From the Artist: Venmo ultimately might be the quintessential Give In song. It’s aggressive, fast paced energy, features an AC/DC inspired guitar solo and we shot the video for it in a strip club (we’re the strippers). Lyrically, it’s a satirical and investigative look into “fly out” dating culture (we’re not judging anyone, just pointing out the ridiculousness aspects of it). It’s tongue in cheek, it’s fun and it has balls

Stephen Selski – “Stand”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: While in Vancouvers Hipposonic Studio, “Stand” still needed a bridge and Producer Darren Grahn said “can you write three or four different ideas and we will play around with them”. I grabbed the guitar, wrote the first idea, recorded it and Darren said “Bam” that”s it. The melody, guitar chords and first line “I want to see you stand up and fight” took maybe two minutes…the rest of the bridge just fell into place. Sometimes the first idea is always the best one to go with.
