Signal Static – “Under The Skin”
Country: Canada
Genre: Grunge
Words From the Artist: Signal Static asks the question; what does it mean to be Human? And, more importantly, what does it mean to be a good Human? Forthcoming single, ‘Under the Skin’ was written for their friends in the transgender and non-binary communities who are working their asses off every day to make progress and own their identities in a world that seems intent on making them disappear. ‘Under the Skin’ aims to honour stories and journeys which may not be their own, but are no less worthy of being told and amplified.

Forest – “Porno”
Country: US
Genre: Alt Rock
Words From the Artist: Gritty yet tender, Forest captures the complexity of sexuality in her new single “Porno”. Listening to this track, it’s hard to miss the heavy shoegaze, post-punk, and experimental rock influences of the 90’s. Like Forests previous work, “Porno” weaves heavy guitar with haunting vocals. Heavy rock riffs in combination with a slow and raw vocal performance create a flavorful listening experience. Recorded with all live instruments, this song is just a taste of the Forests projects to come. While Forest writes all of her music, the collaboration with her band brings her music to life. “Porno”, along with most of the tracks that will appear on her full length album, was recorded at Power Station in New York City. Forest has said, “Having the sound of a live band really changes the music, makes it feel more alive. I was used to just sitting in my room writing, and then bringing it all to a producer, but being able to work and record with my band has allowed the music to become more instrumentally complex and more of a writing collaboration.”

Sail Cassady – “Lefty”
Country: Canada
Genre: Americana
Words From the Artist: “Lefty” is a song about perception. How we visualize the world regardless of how dirty, cracked or fogged our view may be. ‘Please hold on to your worth so you’ll never forget your name’ to ‘you will smoke in your bed, hide away from the world’, represent the various states of mind one can feel while caught in the throes of mental illness. Lefty takes people through the visceral layers of darkness to light giving the listener the ability to either heal or empathize on the narrators journey.

The Pairs – “Sunday to Tuesday”
Country: Canada
Genre: Singer Songwriter
Words From the Artist: “As musicians, our work takes us away from home and many people that we care deeply for. It’s a challenge to find a balance between a life of roaming on the road while still nurturing the kind of loving relationships that we each long for,” lead vocalist Renée Coughlin explains. Hear “Sunday to Tuesday” now, “written in a time when I was attempting to carve space in my life to be able to hold on to all of the things that I loved. While close relationships at home didn’t see the benefits of a Friday to Sunday weekend, and free weekday evenings, I imagined all the love that could fill the days between Sunday and Tuesday, when we weren’t on stage.”

Matthew and the Arrogant Sea – “WEBS”
Country: US
Genre: Alt Rock
Words From the Artist: “WEBS” Is the new song from Matthew and The Arrogant Sea, a band hailing from Denton, TX. The song is a rocker with a lot of heart. I wrote this tune with the intention of working through some traumas of my past. Primarily unresolved feelings over creative collaborations. It became something of a mantra for me over the years, Just keep spinning your webs Matty, the universe will do the rest. Years later the song came to life while we were recording our latest effort.

Joshua Hyslop – “Pieces”
Country: Canada

The Martyr – “The Poison”
Country: US
Genre: Alt Rock
Words From the Artist: “This song takes inspiration from new wave/grunge/punk rock music but with a clean modern sound, which could fit alongside alt-pop tracks. It’s a moody, lethargic song about anxiety and substance use, but has an aggressive and distorted chant-like hook and features a half-time breakdown at 2:10. This is the third and final single from my new album “How To Scream Without Being Heard” which came out today, May 5th. “

Fendahlene – “The Big Reveal”
Country: US
Genre: Alt Rock
Words From the Artist: Written towards the end of the third COVID-19 lockdown, after the misplaced promise and disastrous handling of the first two post-lockdown periods, The Big Reveal asks the big question in a blunt, impassioned manner: Just what happens now? At once stark, intense, and despondent, The Big Reveal outlines that feeling of complete powerlessness we all felt at the time. Although based on the experience of lockdown, the broader themes and emotive connections of The Big Reveal are relatable to any unexpected personal, cultural or political shocks.
