GOLDRIDGE – “Burnout”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “BURNOUT,” is inspired by the feeling of always wanting more and serves as a reminder to never give up no matter how many times you get kicked down or “BURNOUT.” The underlying message is to always put everything you’ve got into what you are passionate about

Supermarket Parking Lot – “Falling From A String”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “Falling From A String” is an abstract, messy, probably vaguely political time machine back to my high school years, when I had just started writing songs and wanted to play things as loud as possible. 6 years on from when I wrote it, the song has persisted in live performances with Supermarket Parking Lot and still holds a special place in my heart as a relic of who I used to be as a songwriter and peek into the songwriter that I would become. While clearly and distinctly written in a different time and frame of mind than the rest of the songs we’ve been recording for our planned debut album, I still felt the need to get a final and polished record of this song, if only for sentimental reasons. And now here it is, about to be released into the world. Supermarket Parking Lot’s second single, the second song I ever wrote, and the first of many exciting 2024 releases for SPL — a taster, if you would like.

Void Souls – “Ivy Queen”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: This song is about when you can’t stop thinking about a person you know you have to let go off, but you can’t. This song is a melodic, high energy love ballad with soaring sounds.

Dan Miraldi – “Ulysses”

Country: US

Genre: Garage Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “Ulysses” is the title track from Dan Miraldi’s upcoming full-length album. This song is about touring and the cost of life on the road with personal relationships. It strips away the glamor and becomes a road song about trying to keep one’s sanity while chasing a dream. Miraldi references Homer while telling a winding tale of the plights of a several months long van and trailer tour. Despite the lingering darkness of the lyrics, “Ulysses” is a rocking tune complete with a singalong chorus and ripping guitar solo provided by Cleveland-area guitar hero Ray Flanagan.

The Eyebrows – “Say Yeah!”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: Say Yeah! is a celebration of those times when you need an energetic friend to nudge you towards a good time. The song is inspired by the ’80s movie, Heavy Metal, and its soundtrack, which resonated with Jay’s 11-year-old self. Lines like, You say Yeah ’cause you’re from outer space, Spread your wings and save the human race, pay homage to the movie’s energy and attitude. The fun and exclamatory lyrics here deviate from Jay’s usual introspective style, and they represent a call to action, urging you to let go of whatever holds you back. “It’s about shedding inhibitions and embracing the experience,” Jay says.

Cult Media – “The Device”

Country: Norway

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “The Device” is a song that critiques how personal data is used and monetized in the digital age. It encourages listeners to reflect on their relationship with technology and the potential implications of their digital footprint.

Irish Basement – “You Are The Wind”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “You Are The Wind” encapsulates the essence of post-punk with its ethereal soundscapes and poignant storytelling, drawing inspiration from iconic acts such as The Cure and Bloc Party. The track feels nostalgic yet refreshing with its jangly, shimmering C-86 guitars, hypnotic LinnDrums, and a deep, emotional vocal. With its haunting melodies and emotive vocals, “You Are the Wind” is filled with introspection, nostalgia, and raw emotion that covers the unspoken influences that shape our lives. The lyrics delve into the profound connection between artist and muse, likening the latter to the ever-present force of the wind. Much like a tree swaying in the breeze, the songwriter finds solace and inspiration in the subtle yet undeniable presence of this person.

The Hellflowers – “Music’s My Love”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: The concept of this song came to me after I was feeling so down and depressed. I put on one of my favorite songs and suddenly it didn’t seem so bad. Listening to your favorite artist or song can change your whole mood. It’s a true love. So, I thought I should write a love song about music and how it’s always there for me and can pick me up when I’m feeling down.

Left on Tenth – “Police Woman”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: Coming of age story about a boy who chose flight over fight. Indie rock, Catchy guitar riff, saxophones, explosive chorus and ending.

Nate Parrish – “Bad Excuse”

Country: US

Genre: Punk

Words From the Artist/PR: Co-created with acclaimed rock producer Josiah Prince, “Bad Excuse” is a call to stop accepting bad excuses — to use our voices to speak truth to systems of destructive power, whether they’re social, religious or political. “I believe it’s vital that we use our voice to speak for not only our selves, but those who can’t speak for themselves,” Nate Parrish explains. “If you’re like me, you often feel helpless watching those in power get away with corruption while they offer another bad excuse. But I believe in justice. Sometimes we just need a single voice to get the choir started.”

Thank You For Driving – “Product of my Design”
