The song effortlessly combines infectious melodies with euphoric energy, creating a proverbial earworm. ‘Under The Weather’ has their punk roots shining through with a raw rock foundation that bursts with chant-worthy chorus. Masterfully, they have found a sweet spot between a palatable indie rock bop and a punk-laden belter.

Kodiak Arcade – “Time Waits For No One”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From PR:  Over the past 15 years, Graeme Cornies has been lucky enough to work with his writing partners at Voodoo Highway Music and Post on more than 40 TV shows and has contributed to more than 1000 episodes of television. He has two solo projects; Graeme releases electronic-pop music under the moniker Kodiak Arcade and neo-classical music under the banner Cabin Fever Orchestra. “Time Waits For No One” is about rising to the challenges of our lives willingly, knowing that the cycle of trying, failing and trying again leads to personal growth as long as the trying doesn’t crush us. Graeme wanted to make an anthemic track about fostering personal resilience and about how, like ourselves, many things in nature need to be stressed to improve and grow – from our muscle fibers, to our immune systems, to the hardening of plants fighting the elements, this seems to be a truism – and our own lives are no exception to the general rule. Nature and circumstance routinely say “take this” and it is up to do something useful with the tension that’s dealt to us.

The Pairs – “Asleep”

Country: Canada

Genre: Folk

Words From the Artist: “Asleep is about sleeping in. And not the blissful, cozy type of sleeping in. The type that makes you feel like the whole world is moving along and you’re being left behind. A potentially relatable song born out of the beginning of the pandemic, It’s about still wanting to matter and to care about showing up, but at the same time, just wanting to sleep.”

Silvertone Hills – “WDYTMF”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From PR: “WDYTMF” is the second single from their upcoming debut LP, Limits. This collection of songs represents Silvertone Hills’ most eclectic material. Set for release this October, the band are not so patiently queueing up fresh electric melodies for the rock masses. It starts with a Keith Richards-y riff. Once the dirty feel was established the spitty, call-out lyrics came naturally. Then the bridge slows down and gives you a glimpse of calm euphoria, only to have the guitars smack it away. During the writing process, frontman Liam O’Sullivan shouted “What do you take me for?!” as a placeholder on top of the guitar riff, which directed the whole lyrical theme and title. The song is bright, aggressive and up-front, so you feel the spit coming off O’Sullivan as he belts it.

Ringfinger – “An Apparition”

Country: Canada

Genre: Post-Punk

Words From PR: An upbeat, introspective gothic track, “An Apparition” is Ringfinger’s final single before the release of our debut album “In A Black Frame,” this fall. Featuring a driving bassline and drum machines, ethereal guitars and synths, a sing-along chorus, and a tragic romantic spoken word verse delivered by bassist/vocalist Hannah Dow-Kenny, An Apparition takes Ringfinger into new territory along familiar roads. This track is accompanied by a music video directed by Marcel Lafonde.
