The Jack Knives – “Are You Listening?”

Country: US

Genre: Pop Punk

Words From the Artist: “Are You Listening?” is descirbed as a passionate and sincere track that delivers emotion through the speakers. Singer Si Short said “It’s a song about accountability, we all know those people who lie and cheat their way through life. It’s a message to those people, to say we see you and you can’t fool us. Your time is coming.”

GENTLE – “Introvert Anthem”

Country: Canada

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist: “If you’ve ever seen that meme where the guy is at a party, standing in the corner watching others dance and having fun while he laments “They don’t know about ___”, this song is about that guy. Social anxiety sucks, but sometimes you can spend too much time in your own head judging everyone around you. I am constantly struggling with this. I often have trouble in social situations and end up cowering in the corner, but then I catch myself thinking condescending thoughts as a self-defense mechanism and it’s a rabbit hole I hate going down. I try my best to convey this with the line “oh my god he’s just like me, secretly a comedy”. I’m identifying with Robert Deniro’s character in Taxi Driver by thinking I come off as a mysterious lone wolf, but really I’m just a punchline who can’t get through a conversation.”

The Mesa – “Settle Down”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist: I recorded this song in 2019 and planned a much earlier release. Then 2020 happened. Things didn’t go as planned. Looking back on it now, the chorus lyrics “time doesn’t wait for me” have a new significance to me. In the spirit of this song, I’m releasing this to be enjoyed because life is too short and there may never be a perfect time.

Jami McDell – “Beach House”

Country: New Zealand

Genre: Singer Songwriter

Words From the Artist: This is a mediation on dreams that hadn’t come to fruition and a good dose of self-doubt. McDell wrote Beach House when she was three months into the job search, jaded by the music industry and its fickle nature, seeking sanctuary and inspiration from the beach.

Michael Fordays – “Broken Wings”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “Broken Wings” is a song from the upcoming album “The Mind And Echoes” releasing June 2nd 2023) by Micheal Fordays, Gabriel Bodhi Music/BMI Copyright 2023. “Broken Wings” is a song about realizing personal potential and overcoming obstacles.

Alic Ward – “Wooden Army”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “I wrote Wooden army in 2011 in the midsts of a very long battle mentally with my life. Essentially I was hitting rock bottom emotionally yet forced to wear a smile everyday in my personal, and professional life. The lyrics flip between first, and third person dialogue; taking you on a journey through the daily struggles of a person who fears asking for help but knows it’s the only way to survive… The Wooden Army itself represents a game “life” a hard game to play, such as chess (wood pieces) Essentially it’s saying make the right move…”

TwoMinutesHates – “SMR”

Country: Norway

Genre: Skate Punk

Words From the Artist: A summery party bop that knows no boundaries! In SMR TwoMinutesHate show themselves from their most playful side while toying around with genre, without ever losing sight of their classic pop punk roots! While their previous work has leaned heavily into the confessional diary-style of writing, SMR is all fun and games. So dust off your skateboard, load your water gun and get far away from work and responsibilities; it’s finally SMR time!

Young Romantics – “Saturday”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “Saturday” is the eighth track on our debut full-length album, “Secret Church,” which was recorded at Thunder Sound Studio in Franklin, KY. Thunder Sound was originally a rubber band manufacturing plant that’s since been converted into a professional recording space, hosting artists the likes of Rayland Baxter and Grouplove.

Patrick Krief – “Eloise”

Country: Canada

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist:  His self-reflective song, “Eloise,” is about meeting someone at the wrong time, and looking back years later, wondering what might have been. The lyrics feel like a love letter to a long lost love, asking when the two lovers might meet again. It was partly inspired by his own parents’ love story. “My father followed my mother from Morocco to several other countries as her family moved from place to place in search of a better life,” Krief explains. “Ultimately they found a life together in Montreal in the early 60s. I imagined what it might have been like had my father lacked such persistence. And in that character, I imagined the longing he might feel for the rest of his life.”

The Out Seer – “Lost Again”

Country: Canada

Genre: Rock

Words From the Artist: Their latest offering “Lost Again” is a dynamic rock track filled with expressive vocals from Ashley Pearce. The title and song were derived from Ashley feeling left out from a friend group and being in an abusive relationship, being lost again both in emotion and thought but lost as well as being disregarded by those around you.
