The Lunar Keys – “Oxygen Type”
Country: UK
Genre: Alt Rock
From the Artist: “The feeling you get to impulsively launch into the night, on a high, bursting with total excitement at living every breath of a prospective night out to the maximum.”
The Fires Below – “Normality”
Country: UK
Genre: Rock
From the Artist: “The Fires Below are a new explosive heavy rock band emerging from the darkest depths of London. Forged in the hellfires of 2022 their monstrous music spawned during the great plague of modern times. Their colossal heavy sound and intense musical energy will ignite that little mosh demon within your soul. Merging irresistible hooks and thundering guitars, bass and drums the band set to melt your brain and leave you wanting more.”
Great Klons – “Drifting on the Wheel”
Country: US
Genre: Indie Rock
From the Artist: “Stormy mid-tempo number with fuzz-toned spaghetti-Western guitars and sweeping strings. The lyrics are a look back at the early days of COVID and getting worn down by isolation and finally breaking and needing to travel, but doing it through the night to get to the location without stopping. It’s also about trying to find inner peace amidst constant apocalyptic news.”
The Bergamot – “Breakdown”
Country: US
Genre: Indie Rock
From the Artist: “The Bergamot is an American indie rock band, consisting of Nathaniel Paul Hoff and Jillian Speece. The duo met in South Bend, IN at Marian High School, where they started making music together. On October 20th, 2017 The Bergamot released the dreamy anthem P.D.R. (Both Records LLC). The single launched the band’s career who was then discovered by Matt Wiggins (Adele, U2, Glass Animals) and achieved great reviews being called “The hottest emerging music talent” (People) and “a gorgeous sound” (Daily Mirror).”
Teddy Clarke – “Stick & Poke”
Country: UK
Genre: Indie Rock
From the Artist: “Written during lockdown at a time when people became more reliant on social media, the song highlights the willingness of people to say things and act in a way that they never would in person. With lyrics such as “dissect my face, cut and erase” and “am I hollow as I’m told?” he draws attention to the fact that social media can lead to isolation and insecurities in individuals who are exposed to hurtful comments online. The idea for the title came after Teddy asked himself – “would people make the comments if every time they did it was tattooed across their skin?”
Goldpark – “Covered In Sunshine”
Country: US
Genre: Indie Rock
From the Artist: “’Covered in Sunshine’ is about the power of stepping outside. All of these problems, anxieties, and fears that have come from a reliance on technology feel a little less heavy when we step into the sunlight. That’s where we realize where ‘real life’ actually lives. Being a ‘part of life’ isn’t being fully connected at all times with the world around us through a viewfinder. It’s being a part of the outside world we forget about so often.”
Danny Echo – “Zeros and Ones”
Country: Canada
Genre: Alt Rock
From the Artist: “Locked up and locked down during a particularly rainy night endlessly scrolling and clicking, Echo’s new single “Zeros and Ones” took shape on an acoustic guitar. Drawing comparisons between the weather and online world, watch and share the video on YouTube. A dystopian yet sanguine look of our modern civilization today, through the coded eyes of the internet.”
Mike Legere – “Dawson City”
Country: Canada
Genre: Singer Songwriter
From the Artist: “When asked about the inspiration behind Dawson City, Legere said “Dawson City is the first single from my upcoming record Memory Forming Clouds. I wrote and recorded most of it in Fox Harbour, Nova Scotia, where I set up a temporary studio and lived for a month in the wake of my life in Toronto collapsing. A personal loss had kickstarted a dark year; I was at the end of a ten year relationship and the studio I worked at was destroyed in a flood. I wrote Dawson City about the unexpected feeling of needing to come home, just as uncertain as when you left.”
mr. cool – “Play With My Head”
Country: US
Genre: Alt Rock
From the Artist: ““Play with my Head” is a single from our debut album “You Win”. We started this band in 2020 after being invited to perform at Tom Petty’s Bday Bash on Sirius/XM radio. Decided that since we liked playing together so much, we should record a full album”
Welcome Strawberry – “No One Online”
Country: US
Genre: Indie Rock
From the Artist: “like mbv but born of the infinite scroll of the internet. No One Online perfectly captures the vibe of being flooded w too much all at once all the damn time.”
Death Lens – “Not Impressed”
Country: US
Genre: Punk
From the Artist: “The tone for “Not Impressed” is immediately set with the opening shot – the band refusing a “totally fair” record contract that gives all power to management. A slick-dressed manager lets them know others think they are washed up, but he can make them a star. From there, the band lets loose with their brand of California punk and chaos ensues. Tempers flare, infighting occurs, a demon manager and his hoard of faceless cannibals threaten the band – a typical Tuesday for Death Lens. As the band says, “It’s a beautiful mess with a good amount of chaos (just like ourselves), that leads to us to keeping our dignity. Because in the end, it’s what we make of ourselves and not what others think.”
Revolution Above Disorder – “Annihilator”
Country: Canada
Genre: Post-Punk
From the Artist: “Annihilator was originally conceived of as an uptempo post-punk song a number of years back when writing the second House of Dolls record, which ultimately never saw the light of day. Rediscovered in a treasure trove of demos back in 2020 as I was conceptualizing Revolution Above Disorder, Annihilator soon metamorphosed into a whole different beast. Working again with Jason Corbett (ACTORS) at Jacknife Sound, we slowed the track down to allow it to breathe and, in doing so, a whole new incarnation of the track began to crystallize”
Jack Arthur – “I Don’t Need Anything But You”
Country: US
Genre: Indie Rock
From the Artist: “I Don’t Need Anything But You is a very dynamic song that has soaring orchestral highs and soft contemplative lows. It is a break up song written on Valentines Day 2021, it reflects on trying to save a relationship that will not last until the end of the song with an acoustic finger picked outro.”
LUVHUE – “Teddybear”
Country: US
Genre: Indie Rock
From the Artist: “Wanted to tell a story about growing up in a world that seems to be out to kill you and what better way of showing the dark parts of growing up then war”
Night Hymns – “Araby”
Country: Canada
Genre: Singer Songwriter
From the Artist: “This is song partly inspired by James Joyce’s short story “Araby”. The “Sheikh of Araby” mentioned in the lyrics is the title of an old American song. It is just a song about not being able to do anything for anyone that is important to you.”
