Sugarcane Firewater – “F-Bomb”
Country: US
Genre: Post-Punk
From the Artist: “This fun punk rocker was inspired by a big-mouth narcissist who wouldn’t shut up. We all know one, and we all want to tell them to shut the eff up! It’s all in good fun, though. It’s a humorous sing along anthemic guitar driven punk rocker with a retro feel.”
Calling Cadence – “Good Day” (Acoustic)
Country: US
Genre: Singer-Songwriter
From the Artist: “Hot off the release of their self-titled debut album on hi-res records, Los Angeles band Calling Cadence are releasing Acoustic Sessions Vol. 1, a collection of acoustic versions of fan favorite songs from the album. “Good Day (Acoustic)” translates the dance-funk energy of the original version, while doubling down on the power and grit that stems from the band’s Oscar Bugarin and his acoustic playing. Harmonies by Bugarin and Rae Cole underscore the unique blend of influences the band celebrates in their music, from Southern soul and country rock. A foot-stomping jam about making the best out of a hard situation, the group shows that everything in life is a lesson. “It’s always a good day to be alive, so pick yourself up and get in line,” says Cole.”

Plastic Harpoons – “Gettysburg”
Country: US
Genre: Indie Rock
From the Artist: “‘Gettysburg’ is one of those songs that over time became something other than what it was meant to be. Originally a folk song, I wrote it as a birthday gift for two twin brothers who were some of my closest friends that I met in college. It was our first year out and I was missing my life and friends of the last 4 years. I was living at home in Pittsburgh, and that day, the rain was coming down hard through the cold air. Fast forward a few years and their mother, who was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, unexpectedly passed away from a rare disease. In her memory, I dug the song back up and brought it to the band, who helped rework and update the musical arrangement and lyrics into what it is now. We wanted the energy to not be sad, but celebratory – that we are grateful for the memories of those no longer with us. Instrumentation wise, it feels like this is where we are heading as a band. We would call it Indie Rock, with Americana and Pop influences.”
Dust Cwaine – “90s Darling”
Country: Canada
Genre: Indie Pop
From the Artist: ““This song brings me back to my childhood, the things that distracted me from the world and shaped me,” says Dust. “It has a sense of longing for sillier times. I really wanted the lyrics to acknowledge the present moment uniquely. When I sing it, it feels like I’m singing into a time machine. Sonically it feels both new and familiar, which was a conscious effort by Josh Eastman, who produced this track. This song sits among an album of songs that are navel gazey. It’s one of many little jaunts to the past we take on the journey that is Arcana.”
