Low Country Hill – “A Billion Rooms”
Country: Canada
Genre: Folk Rock
Words From PR: Paul Hogeterp writes and performs songs as Low Country Hill. It’s a loose translation of his Dutch-Frisian surname and a fitting metaphor for what music can be. Hill has released two records including a self-titled debut album in 2014 and the Guesthouse EP in 2017. Dave King produced and played drums on both releases. Musicians Patrick Sansone (Wilco, Autumn Defense) and Bill Dillon (Joni Mitchell, Robbie Robertson, Peter Gabriel) lent their artistry to the debut record while Paul Linklater (Bidini Band, Communism) filled out the sound on the new remotely recorded and crowd-funded EP A Billion Rooms.

Cat Valley – “Not Me”
Country: US
Genre: Garage Rock
Words From the Artist: “Not Me”, the second track on the upcoming EP is a patriarchy-bashing garage rock tune. It begins with Flinn’s soaring lead guitar which floats over driving instrumentation before settling into verse full of held back anger as the vocal melody dances around palm muted guitars before exploding into a high energy punk chorus. The lyrics explore themes of romantic possession, entitlement, and the male gaze, “You’ve got me where you want me now,” before exploding into a defiant chorus of shouted group vocals, “Not me!”. In true Cat Valley style, Flinn and Hegge trade guitar leads, share sweet vocal harmonies, and yell their hearts out.

Approaching Jupiter – “Fall Behind”
Country: Canada
Genre: Pop Rock
Words From the Artist: Fall Behind is a love letter to the early work of Marianas Trench and today’s The Band CAMINO, fusing guitars and synths together behind drums and vocal layers at breakneck speed. Through the lens of a relationship, Fall Behind touches on the difficulty of trying to make up lost ground and the discomfort that comes with fighting something that seems intangible. It provides a taste of everything Approaching Jupiter has to offer by cleverly tying catchy riffs with high octane instrumentals and broken down acoustic guitars for a full experience.
