Dead Levee – “Nothing Comes Easy”

New single from Edmonton band Dead Levee – while this one fits into their alt rock sound, it also has a bit of a southern style to it that would definitely help reach new audiences. From the Band: “The band was inspired to write this song when they were driving by the ocean on Sunshine Coast, BC in their 1989 Ford Econoline, and realized that this song they had been writing for the past 2 years was missing a perfect hook to tie everything together. “Nothing Good Comes Easy” is a reminder that in order to see the best views or experiences, you have to keep pushing ahead through the peaks and valleys of life.”

The Oozes – “Sickening”

This list needed some more punk, so here’s the song for you – produced by Frank Turner, this track will have you amped up and ready for more from The Oozes. From the band: “Sickening is the new single from The Oozes. The Lonely Ones – “The Way Out”

There’s a cool mix of throwback rock and modern alt rock in this track by The Lonely Ones. The driving guitar really keeps you invested throughout the whole song. From the Band: “Hard rock band The Lonely Ones are kicking off the new year with their latest single “The Way Out” available on all major platforms via Imagen Records. The band finished off 2021 with a bang playing shows with Sevendust and PLUSH. In support of the new single the band will be on tour playing shows and festivals throughout the year!”

Zen From Mars – “Inner Mission”

I’ve been listening to Kik Tracee a lot this week, and then, in the weirdest coincidence, a song from the lead singer of Kik Tracee hit my inbox. Crazy. This song by Zen From Mars is a departure from his other band, but still damn good- great guitar riffs, and some Velvet Revolver-like vocal melodies. Check it out! From the band: “Inner Mission quite literally and sonically sums up both individually and as a collective whole the struggle it has taken to get this record completed and out there for the world to hear and experience! The ultimate, and quite frankly ambitious rock and roll perseverance journey! Joe Nolan – “Start The Car”

Here’s a new single from Canadian indie folk artist Joe Nolan. Give it a listen, then go back and read out past interview with him! From the Artist: “Classic Joe Nolan: vivid scenes with precision wordsmithing, smoky vocals and exemplary guitar work from the lauded alt-roots multi-instrumentalist.”

Ty Gold – “Ride”

Here’s a new single from Argentina’s Ty Gold – smooth as hell vocals, great driving riffs, and an overall stellar tune. Definitely worth checking out! From the Artist: “The album’s stoner rock song. The one that drives you forward no matter what.”

Teenage Fiction – “Cello Song”

There’s a great indie-shoegaze-early 2000’s emo vibe to this song by Teenage Fiction. Super likeable, with an interesting twist around 2:35. From the Band: “Cello Song is a reflection on the different ways that we, in our relationships, connect with – and disconnect from – each other. Shot with longing, it builds to a grand crescendo of crashing guitars, drums, and screams as it the band transfers its heart, from our sleeves to yours. It was recorded in 2021 and released on March 18, 2022.”

Couchboy – “Kind Time”

If you’re looking for something very Beatles-esque, this is your tune. With likeable vocals, horns, and a catchy guitar riff, it’s hard not to enjoy! From the band: “KIND TIME is the newest single from COUCHBOY. Inspired by 60’s folk, retro-pop and psychedelia, the song is poppy, but also ethereal and dreamy. The additions of horns, strings, and backwards guitars against the classic rhythm section give this a familiar, yet fresh, upbeat feel.”
