Krooked Tongue

UK’s Krooked Tongue has just released a new track, entitled “Let ‘Em Loose”. The follow-up to their last two critically-acclaimed singles, “Let ‘Em Loose” is a song that parallels our current technological age, diving into the idea of learning to be present without distractions.

The lyrics of the song were actually inspired by an episode of Black Mirror called “Metalhead” that features robotic minions hunting people in rural settings. This created a clear visualization for songwriter and vocalist Oli Rainsford, and prompted him to create the song.

‘Let Em’ Loose’ is a song that reminds us to be a little more present in a world where it seems like being tethered to a plug socket is the norm,” says the band. “It’s a reminder to look up. There’s a whole universe in front of us. While you’re scrolling reels or finding yourself down YouTube rabbit holes all night, you’re missing your kids growing up, you’re missing out on your grandad’s most compelling stories and you’re eating away at the dwindling hourglass of time.

We need to regain our sense of importance. ‘Let ‘Em Loose’ is your warning.

This is yet another killer track from Krooked Tongue; one that is melodic, fast-driving, and immediately catchy. I’ve long been a fan of Rainsford’s vocal style and the band’s ability to create a mood and send a message with their cohesive alt rock arrangements. Krooked Tongue’s songs have a tendency to sit with me long after I’ve heard them, and this one is no exception.
