Lucifers Beard – “The Guy With A Black Eye”

Country: UK

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “The Guy With A Black Eye is the second release to escape from my home made recording studio. TGWABE was inspired by a passerby in the street. A skateboard tucked under his arm, attitude for days and a big black eye. I teamed up again with Ed Ripley (NOFX/Frank Turner/Goat Girl) to master TGWABE.”

The Pairs – “Yellow Lines”

Country: Canada

Genre: Folk

Words From the Artist: “Written at the end of a tour, Yellow Lines is the story of a tempestuous love affair with the road. It speaks to the challenge of busyness and the pull towards adventure, and in turn, the hold that home and the people we care about have on us while we are away.”

Bottlerockets – “Talk About It”

Country: Australia

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “The second single in the lead up to our second EP is the track Talk About It. All four tracks had periods of difficulty during the creative process, trying to bring them in line with the vision in my head, but none more so than this track. Trying to make the guitars grittier, trying to make the chorus pop, trying to make the vocals impassioned, but also hiding that passion behind a cool, almost lazy drawl that comes across as a facade. The vocals in the chorus have that coolness, the façade is still up, and it’s paired with a screaming vocal in the background that represents that voice in the back of your head and wailing, anxious guitars to add to the effect. It’s a song about trying to be chill when your entire body is fighting completely against that.”

Souls Extolled – “Self-Mutilation”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “Although the song is about the hardships of life and equating rock n’ roll with destructive behavior like drugs, smoking, and self-harm, it’s actually a positive song about finding ways to persevere, and taking pride in strength through hardship. Sonically it’s kind of a mix of grunge and ska punk. “

The City Feels – “Not Tonight”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “‘Not Tonight’ is set to release October 7th, it’s my second single off my upcoming debut EP titled The Great Now (release date TBD). This song was inspired by having a crush on someone and not having the courage to say something about it. Not Tonight was written with more of a 80’s new wave influence, but still staying true to the indie rock style that I love.”

Dress Warm – “Take A Hint”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist: “‘Take a Hint’ is the second single from Austin, TX-based recording project Dress Warm. ‘Take a Hint’ is a deceivingly upbeat tune that blends indie pop with southern rock and focuses on failed social interactions with strangers. Produced and engineered entirely by Dress Warm, the group is known to spend many weekends holed up writing and spending time with one another… Comfortable and safe in their own habitat. Going out as a group is a different story; feeling out of place and unwelcome, frontman Brandon Price croons”

Mike Freund – “Run Baby Run”

Country: US

Genre: Rock

Words From the Artist: “Run Baby Run – A song about getting out of town. An upbeat, fast tempo, contemporary pop rock song. Big drums and big guitars!”

Longfriend Timefriend – “Slow Motion Tragedy”

Country: US

Genre: Punk

Words From the Artist:  “”Slow Motion Tragedy” is about the world crumbling around us and the inability to do anything about it because of capitalistic greed.”

Augusta – “Little Birds”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “Debut single, “Little Birds,” was written in its entirety during Ontario’s last lockdown. August and Joe took their recording gear and went to the former’s cottage to write music for the week. After spending five days writing songs that will never be shared, the pair finally struck gold in the final 24 hours. Born from an idea that Joe was ready to throw away, they stayed up all night writing from start to finish the song that perfectly sums up Augusta’s musical identity.”

Yes We Mystic – “Head Rush”

Country: Canada

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist: “From the very first note of the song, “Head Rush” engages in a push and pull between feelings of uneasiness and euphoria. The track’s towering chorus, which exemplifies the band’s incredible knack for lush arrangements, is met by an unsettling urgency in the verses. “Musically, it includes a lot of familiar sounds for us — driving off-kilter rhythms, soaring strings, spindly guitars, and robust bass synth, this time coupled with something brand new to us—a saxophone solo.” explains Yes We Mystic songwriter/vocalist/producer Adam Fuhr, “The verses are clusters of disparate images, which act as a type of Rorschach test — any paths, associations or connections made between them are those of the listener, not of the band.”

DOWNGIRL – “Manic”

Country: Australia

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “The gradual build of gritty riffs and fury-driven drums match the energy of the lyrical confessions that escalate with a fight or flight intensity. By the time it gets there, it fervently begs for relief with a euphoric, wall-to-wall noise-filled chorus and its refrain, ‘Manic’. The song hits like shots of cinnamon whisky – hard, fast and to dizzying effect, with a sweet but spicy aftertaste. Each member gives it their all, and collectively let go like an unrelenting force of nature.”

Misfortune Tellers – “Sweet Sunshine”

Country: Canada

Genre: Punk

Words From the Artist:  “This is a fast paced and riveting pop punk song with themes about growing up and remembering the past. The song details aspects of depression and the hardships that we all face in our day to day lives as we grow up and become adults.”

Robot Are Dix – “The Revolution of the Inner, Man”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “Utilizing a simple two chord progression and a repetitive, marching rhythm, “The Revolution Of The Inner, Man” delves into the all but forgotten “inner realm” that is a staple across the entirety of human experience. Exploring the esoteric and profound as well as the mundane, the track is a call to arms for many of us searching for something beyond the superficial while simultaneously managing our day to day lives in a larger than life, overstimulating modern world.”

Kieran Kriss – “Like We Know”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist: “Shacked up, broke and very pleased with yourself. A song about young love. “It’s just us against the world babyyyy!!!”
