In Covert – “Dead Weight”
Country:US
Genre: Grunge
Words From the Artist/PR: “This current batch of songs reflect a dark and confusing time in my life, during the pandemic, due to my depression and thinking our impending doom as a society with the ai and biotech on our horizon. I wanted my music to sound heavy, like the pain I was feeling. I think many people would relate to that. In an effort to lift my spirits, I painted a mural of a scene of a lush forest with a night sky of stars and moons. On adjacent walls, I painted different colors such as Orange. In addition, I have my blacklights and other color lights. Once I had the vibe of my room, I was inspired to create very experimental sounds with my cassette tape loops. “

Arimea – “Castiel”
Country: UK
Genre: Alt Rock
Words From the Artist/PR: Castiel is a pocket rocket of a track, heavily inspired by alt rock and nu metal of the early 2000’s. Lyrically it is a love letter to lead singer Whitney Cooper’s comfort show ‘Supernatural’ and uses the titular character as a vehicle for grounding oneself in the familiar when life starts to feel like its spinning out of control

Office Dog – “Big Air”
Country: New Zealand
Genre: Indie Rock
Words From the Artist/PR: The song was inspired by life’s triumphant turbulence, echoed in its energy and dissonant breakdowns. Kane says, “‘Big Air’ came about during a period where I was living back in Dunedin. Lyrically, I think it’s about life’s peaks and troughs and how sometimes with a big high there’s a heavy low that follows. With the video though, I like that it just focuses on this first part – the comedown never comes and it’s just these three kids having a day completely to themselves, catching some big air.”

Spiral Frank – “Two Figures in Perpetual Motion”
Country: UK
Genre: Alt Rock
Words From the Artist/PR: This song is deeply autobiographical. This and our song No Man’s Sky were written when I was experiencing crippling agoraphobia and had to give up playing live. It is about realising that I am an addict and that the coping strategies I have used to feel better have only made things a lot worse. I must accept the whole truth of my situation, accept that there is no way but through. Writing this song was the beginning of a long road of recovery that led me to this point now. Two and a half years sober and back out on the road playing live. I wrote it to be fast and and heady. Like a headrush. This is what I wanted to hear at the time. This kind of rock music makes my heart pound so I think I wrote it to motivate myself to keep pushing through.

TwoMinutesHate – “Killing Me Softly With This Job”
Country: Norway
Genre: Punk
Words From the Artist/PR: Is it a two-week notice or a firecracker of a punk song? “Why not both,” says Oslo pop punkers TwoMinutesHate as they roll out their newest bop Killing Me Softly With This Job, concluding their sophomore EP. The female-fronted up-and-comers pride themselves on the infectious quality of their melodies, which is no less present in this tune, although the overall sound draws far more from the punk side of their roots than their previous works. A song to quit your job to!
