The Boathouse – “Pink Sun”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist:  “Pink Sun” is the first single from Toronto-based yacht-rock outfit The Boathouse.

Spiders On Drugs – “Deep In Your Love”

Country: Sweden

Genre: Pop Rock

Words From the Artist: “I primarily write music for fun. There is a certain pleasure in having a song take form. Sometimes they come easy, other times they put up a fight. This one went through several phases before taking it`s final form. The idea I had from the start was not at all what came out. But you have to go with the tune and where it takes you. They seem to have their own life sometimes. I would like to take this project on the road but the people who seem to like my songs are scattered all over the world. I have all the musicians for a live act, we’ll see if we can take the next step and get on the road.”

Nuraghe – “Omphalos”

Country: Spain

Genre: Punk

Words From the Artist: A 5-track EP and a new music video are ready to go as their first contribution. April is the month. Anyway, as they didn’t want to do this EP (‘coz 5 songs are a few) they’ll be heading to Ferrara to record their second LP at Titans Lab Recording Studio to give a new and fresh breath to the punk rock scene.

Dan Friedman – “Inferno”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist:  “Inferno is track 2 off my new EP Tides. The song describes my past struggles with depression and how they radiated outward to affect those closest to me.”

Supermarket Parking Lot – “Normal Person”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: It’s a song I wrote thinking back on a breakup from about six months prior. There had been a classmate of mine who became a little too comfortable with me, but immediately stopped and apologized when she realized I had a girlfriend. I forgave her and my relationship went on to last a while longer. And now that we had broken up, I just got to thinking about the what-ifs. What if I hadn’t told my classmate to back off? What if I had said yes? Where would my life be if I had made a different choice? Can I be happier? Is what I missed out on even worth the anxiety and the overthinking? I re-evaluated some other past relationships and situation-ships as a result of the thought experiment and some glimpses into a few different situations made their way into this profoundly anxious tune”

The Seagulls – “Sunday Afternoon Drinking”

Country: US

Genre: Garage Rock

Words From the Artist: A tune that captures both the heady moment before you enter the first promise filled bar of the weekend and the head pounding aftermath at the end.

Friendship Commanders – “Fail”

Country: US

Genre: Rock

Words From the Artist: Friendship Commanders respectfully present “Fail,” both in memory of Marc Orleans and in honor of new clarity. “I was in my late teens/early twenties when I first met Marc. We were both playing in bands and making art in Boston. Our friendship was so easy and uncomplicated, and when I look back at that time, I realize how rare that was for me then. The rest of my story up there was intense and even traumatizing. His death has brought me an unbelievable amount of grief, but also the confirmation that I knew and loved him when he was here—and I sure as hell hope that he felt known by me in his lifetime. Losing him has made me aware of who I want to be to the people I actually care about, and who I want to spend less energy on. It’s been illuminating in a number of ways, but mostly, I just miss him. I respect his decision to die, but I might be sad about it for the rest of my days. I wrote this song to speak to him from here.”

Lost Faculty – “Any Other Name”

Country: Canada

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist: This dreamy power ballad from Hamilton-based indie rock outfit, Lost Faculty, welcomes you into its little world with lush guitars and cranks the vibes to 11 for its entirety. Recorded at Threshold Recording Studio by Mike Keire (Dirty Nil, Matt Mays)

Luke Elliot – “William Tell”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist:  ‘William Tell’ is the 3rd single from Luke’s upcoming album Let Em All Talk, due to be released via Icons Creating Evil Art on May 19th. The track is based on William Burroughs shooting his 2nd wife, Joan Vollmer, in Mexico City in 1951. “I was always fascinated with William Burroughs,” says Luke. “This song is about him killing his wife by placing a glass of whiskey on her head, trying to reenact the famous stunt. Burroughs was hiding out in Mexico, fleeing drug charges. After her death, he went back to the states and his career really began with Junky.”
