Search Party – “Paradise”

Country: UK

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “Paradise is a track we wrote during rehearsals for our last tour. At the time we were all busy with work, gigs with our other bands and trying to get our heads around the admin involved in organising the tour. The song is about being able to park those worries at the door and come home to your own slice of paradise”

Torture & the Desert Spiders – “Blood on the Reef”

Country: UK

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: Written about my experiences moving to NYC from England, Blood on the Reef is my most progressive track yet featuring strong pop and garage elements

Eric Sleeper – “Lotto”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: This compelling track is more angsty and experimental than his other tracks as he narrates his anger about someone who did him dirty and finds immense joy in letting them leave, displayed in the lyric: “I hit the lotto when you were gone.”

Stephie James – “Steve McQueen”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: Rock n roll treat “Steve McQueen” isn’t so much about the actor who epitomized cool for the post James Dean generation, but a mere backdrop for a time when James was living with “an old cowboy singer” who’d always watch McQueen marathons. Co-written with guitarist Nick Bourgeau, the song adopts a straight Velvet Underground backbeat, rollicking guitars, a big organ solo and her gorgeous backing oohs and ahhs all embrace James’ lyrically poetic imagery. “I like Steve McQueen but you’re the man of every hour for me / So it seems / while His marathon is on the TV / you watch while I iron your blue jeans / Isn’t this the real American Dream,” James sings.

Totally Slow – “Pistol Whip”

Country: US

Genre: Punk

Words From the Artist/PR: We wanted to find a more dynamic balance for this record. The track order wasn’t taken lightly and there are lot of interesting samples and between-song transitions that I hope folks can find the time to receive fully as a whole piece. “Pistol Whip” is a tone-switch, and brings the BPM down a bit. The intensity level is still peaking but it still feels like breathing space – with lyrics conveying that we live inside of chaos and trying to find some peace in accepting the intractable nature of “being”. So it’s a sonic break and really an emotional break as well.

Cam Blake – “ANOTHER DESPERATE WORLD TURNED TO NOTHINGNESS”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “This song was created by accident. I found an old Casio CA-100 at Value VIllage, it is one of the most unassuming synths I have come across. I brought it home and decided to run it through my pedal board and experiment; that’s how the lead and many of the other sounds were created for this song and others on this album. This song depicts an attempted conversation with some sort of higher power, pleading for answers on the afterlife and the state of our world.”

Broken Gold – “Bad Days” (feat. Alejandro Escovedo)

Country: US

Genre: Garage Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: This raucous jam finds the band reflecting on past grinds and features local legend Alejandro Escovedo guesting on vocal duties alongside Broken Gold frontman Ian MacDougall.

The Lovinas – “Don’t Have Sex with Your Ex”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “Catchy song with a message for those who should know better”

creaturefight – “run”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: creaturefight make their debut with the single titled “run”, a rock and punk fueled song with verbed out vocals and massive chunky guitar riffs.

Dylan Fellows – “New Moon”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: Imagine you’re a lepidopteran – a beautiful winged moth. You did your time as a fat little caterpillar but now you’ve sprouted wings and are navigating the cold, dark night all on your own. But you’re not doing it all on your own are you? Post-metamorphosis, you’ve had your moon – Luna, Selene, Mond – as a guide. But it must be hard to have such a guide be so far away and out of reach So maybe you’ve been drawn to more easily accessible lights. The common street lights. But maybe you find that these common street lights don’t seem to guide you as well as your moon. What a shame
