Milk St. – “China Town”
Country: US
Genre: Indie Rock
Words From the Artist: “China Town” is the lead single for their upcoming EP Vermont, which will feature two other singles – “Peyote” and “Pixie Cuts and Angel Dust” – that will be released over the coming months. Sonically, “China Town” is as unique as the underlying story that defines it. Imagine if The Ongoing Concept performed midwest emo; what you have is an unconventional mix of punk, indie rock, and a hint of bluegrass flowing through this confessional anthem. Vocalist Jonah Wakefield had this to say about the new single, “China Town is a song about coming of age and steeping yourself in what truly makes you, you at a very fragile point of your life. It’s about finding out exactly who you are and embracing the uncomfortable in pursuit of self discovery. It’s also about doing mushrooms with your cousins dog.”

Sea Glass & Sky Adler – “Weekend”
Country: US
Genre: Alt Rock
Words From the Artist: Originally conceived by Sea Glass as a simple slacker pop song under the working title “just write a pop song,” Sky Adler pushed the duo to make it feel bigger with more dynamics, elevated builds and a party atmosphere. The result is a lively story with dark undertones expressed in a surprising energetic manner true to the best pop music. About the song, Sea Glass notes, “my original intention was to make a simple pop track with some light punk influence…something reminiscent of the slacker rock of the late 90’s. I laid down scratch vocals and found myself unintentionally doing a Joey Ramone impression. It bordered on being very silly, but it did allow me to write some fun melodies and come up with a hook that felt relatable. Sky’s pop sensibilities really helped straighten the path to finding the perfect balance of excitement and form. The end result is something I want to play on repeat.”
