Velma – “Don’t Wanna See You Again”
Country: UK
Genre: Alt Rock
Words From the Artist/PR: “The song was written as a fast, punky and energetic b-side to our latest single. The song is about nobody in particular, but more a reflection on how disposable people have become as friends/lovers in the modern world.”

The Haunts – “Champagne Breakfast”

Great Australian Bank – “Don’t Call Me”
Country: Australia
Genre: Post Punk
Words From the Artist/PR: “’Don’t Call Me’ is basically about growing up and experiencing racism in Australia, making it probably the most personal release to-date. Growing up as a mixed-race person in the 2000s was equal parts strange, difficult, and confusing. All my life (even now here and there) I’ve been remarked or essentialised for the colour of my skin, like the absence of paleness from my complexion were some weird point of fascination or ire from the people around me. This was especially prevalent during school times and came from students and teachers alike, but it had a really negative impact on my mental health, identity, sense of safety/security and sense of place. ’Don’t Call Me’ takes all of that and sort of asks why I had to go through this experience in the first place.”

NOAPOLOGY – “I’m Done”
Country: Ukraine
Genre: Alt Metal
Words From the Artist/PR: “The third single of the band NOAPOLOGY. We tried to make it powerfull yet melodic. Heavy guitar background with powerful female rock vocals on top. Also slight tempo changes between verse and chorus have to make the song feels more dynamic.”

The Nearly Deads – “I Don’t Want To Set The World On Fire”
Genre: Punk
Words From the Artist/PR: “This is a cover inspired by the game Fall Out and in celebration with the new TV series”
—
Komodos – “Deliverance”
Country: US
Genre: Alt Rock
Words From the Artist/PR: “In the spirit of post-punk rock, Komodos have set out in their own original, upstart style, one grounded on equal parts intellectual poetics and brash, soaring instrumentation—”Deliverance” is a quintessential example. The track evokes pangs of melancholy, ire, despair and romance, as dreamy falsettos and anthemic riffs in the verse give way to a transcendental chorus of snarling guitars and thrilling spoken-word lyricism that will leave you frantically searching for the rewind button.”

VIDA – “In Absence”
Country: Canada
Genre: Alt Metal
Words From the Artist/PR: “Encapsulating that feeling that literally everything around us in the modern world, be it government, corporations, media outlets, etc. are all flawed and/or failing, but they will continue to limp on as our systems and lives are so intertwined with them. And we have no choice but to limp on with them. “I’ll try to grow in quicksand.””

Mo Kenney – “Evening Dream”
Country: Canada
Genre: Indie Rock
Words From the Artist/PR: “In their lyrics, Kenney opts to defy definition, making room for non-linear and fragmentary sentiments that challenge their own feelings about personal growth, acknowledge the slippery and shadowy nature of memory, and build love songs that conjure the bonds of friendship just as much as they hint at romance. The driving single, “Evening Dream,” has all the hallmarks of a post-summer come-down as Kenney reminisces about the nebulous feelings of flings. It’s about a romance that just wasn’t meant to be, reminiscing about it and wishing them well. There’s that bittersweet process of losing a love, but knowing and accepting that it is for the best.”

Nick Brodeur – “Magic In The Soul”
Country: US
Genre: Rock
Words From the Artist/PR: “hard rock with amazing guitars and Jack Daley on bass (Lenny Kravitz )”
—
Sam Weber – “Oregon”
Country: Canada
Genre: Indie Rock
Words From the Artist/PR: “‘Oregon’ was written on a trip to Ashland,” Weber explains. We were renting a casita on this big property where all these hippies lived. It’s a bit of a sensory abstract poem that just sort of emerged. I think the imagery is my own from the I-5 corridor, seeing the lush green flora, very pagan-beautiful, natural imagery of the state, contrasted with the scraps of humanity strewn around. And the progressive culture of Portland.”
