Justin Beauchamp – “Another Fantasy”
Canadian indie-rock artist Justin Beauchamp brings us a tune about “success, happiness and money, and how sometimes it feels like it’s impossible to find them all in one spot.” Immediately likeable, this song sits firmly on the fence between rock and pop, perfect for any playlist.
Diamond Shake – “Shake”
While “Shake” is not technically a single, it is one of the songs from Diamond Shake’s debut LP, just released on November 15th… and it’s a good one. At first listen, this song had us movin’ in our FTS office chairs – give it a listen, see how you dig it.
Tom Boy – “Nothing To Lose”
Singer Nate Daniels and guitarist Dante Berardi Jr. created this band, Tom Boy, after their last band, CAIRO, broke up. In this song from the brand new EP, they’re pairing pop vibes with melancholic guitar and soft vocals.
Smokin’ On Planes – “Washington City”
Written as a love letter to the place they call home, this is one of Smokin’ On Planes’ songs from their latest EP. It’s an uptempo rock tune that brings to mind some great rock bands from the 80s and 90s, but with a modern upgrade.
Pony – “Limerence”
With a new LP coming out in early 2020, PONY is back with a new release – Limerence is a sludgy guitar pop song paired with sweet vocals and a deceptively sunshine-y video. Reminiscent of my 90’s mixed tapes, it’s hard not to like this one!
Tree Museum – “Where To Begin”
Tree Museum’s latest song is about “someone who ‘isn’t looking for anything serious right now’ trying to come to terms with how that effects their new lover.” The result is an indie rock jam sure to please listeners across all genres. Have a listen, and keep an eye out for this Canadian band.
The Mowgli’s – “Fighting With Yourself”
Here with your feel-good tune of the 8 Tracks list is The Mowgli’s – a fun, infectious song with a video that features fans singing along. It’s a song about accepting change, and these guys are doing so in a fun, catchy way.
Kid Lunch – “Before It’s Over”
Kid Lunch is a musical project from Joshua Malinksky, the found member of hard rock band Poledo, and frequent band member of artists such as Howie Beck and Hayden (a personal favourite of mine). This is the first single from his upcoming album, and it’s a great guitar-driven tune with a melody that sticks with you.
