Bad Self Portraits – “I Think I’m Going To Hell”

Country: US

Genre: Pop Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “”I Think I’m Going To Hell” captures the band at their most raw and vulnerable. Written by lead vocalist Ingrid Howell, the song recounts a formative childhood memory through the lens of undiagnosed OCD and religious anxiety. “’I Think I’m Going To Hell’ is about my traits of OCD, ASD, and anxiety starting when I was a little kid,” Howell shares. “I was roughly five or six years old in the memory that this all stems from, and I stole a single peanut from the grocery store. I had never purposefully done anything wrong before, and wanted to test what could happen, so I ate the peanut in my room, put the shell in my locked diary, and hid the key above the trim on the inside of my closet. No one caught me, but I knew the ‘man in the sky’ saw me, and I was worried that he’d probably tell my great grandparents too. This song describes the thoughts I had surrounding that fear while growing up, feeling like God couldn’t save me, and ultimately trying to figure out how to process religious trauma.”

the dt’s – “Sun Shines Down”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “Sun Shines Down is an alt-rock/power pop anthem about finding light in dark times. It’s uplifting, hooky, and perfect for summer playlists. “

drifting. – “notions”

Country: Ireland

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “The song is about his struggles with people who come off as being supportive but don’t really want to see success. It’s an exploration of trying to find one’s belonging. And feeling caught in a moment where you’re not sure if “staying put” could leave you stunted; and if leaving everything you’ve worked towards can build a new beginning.”

Cookie – “Slide”

Country: Australia

Genre: Alt Metal

Words From the Artist/PR: “This song is the most vulnerable one I’ve ever made. It is intentionally cryptic because the experience was too hard to relive, but I hope the people who can relate will understand it.”

First Umpire – “Windows”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “As a guitarist for A Beacon School, Pat learned a lot about creating emotionally captivating music over the years. Normally an engineer at well accredited studios around NYC, he would often stay late after sessions to work on his personal project “First Umpire”. The track “Windows” is the first single leading up to an album called “Crave.” He has been playing shows and building the hype for Crave the last year.”

Pillowsnake – “BONDING AGENT”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “Pillowsnake is thrashing, shredding, and being as outspoken as ever in his mind-blowing comeback single, smearing a dystopian haze over surf punk that counters complacency, silence, and conformity.”

Dylan Fellows – “Dream of Other Things”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR:  “I wrote this song in the wild of Alaska. For a few months, was plagued by these terrible dreams where I’d go to sleep, but then in my dream it’d seem like I was awake. Everything would look identical to my real life back in Georgia, but I would do and say terrible things to people. It became very difficult to remember what was a dream and what was a memory. Bad times in Dylan-land!”
