Burn The Jukebox – “Not Me Being Crazy”
Country: US
Genre: Alt Rock
Words From the Artist/PR: A powerful and thought-provoking anthem, “Not Me Being Crazy” dives deep into the profound impact of intrusive thoughts, particularly on those battling conditions like OCD. The band’s bass player and lead vocalist on this track, Virginia, has had a personal journey with OCD, and this release marks the first time the band is publicly acknowledging it. The track draws parallels to the relentless loop of negative self-talk that can be amplified in toxic relationships marked by gaslighting. What sets it apart is the intriguing contrast between its heavy subject matter and an upbeat tempo, a compelling hook, and a bolder, edgier musical direction for Burn the Jukebox.

Skymender – “Jetwash”
Country: US
Genre: Shoegaze
Words From the Artist/PR: Washington D.C.’s Skymender present “Jetwash”, the first single from their debut album “If and Only”. The dual vocals from Ashley Scurto and guitarist Kenny Grose volley into an ethereal haze–sounds which take shape through the efforts of drummer S. Dwayne Bruner (Cross My Heart, Government Issue), guitarist James Banta, and bassist Zahin Huq. Self-described as shoegaze-adjacent, Skymender’s sounds invite you into a gauzy dreamworld. Their unique palette draws from post-punk, post-rock, emo, and dream pop to create a bright, lysergic-tinged tapestry.

Ynana Rose – “Strawberry Moon”
Country: US
Genre: Americana
Words From the Artist/PR: Ynana Rose [pronounced Y’nah-nah] captivates audiences with her unique blend of the traditions of American roots music, penning songs threaded with folk, country, blues and jazz influences while reaching for new horizons in her writing. A versatile singer, Ynana sings of the joy and heartbreak of living in a rich, soulful voice. The “Strawberry Moon” is visible in June. For Ynana, a summer moon is haunting, sensual and nostalgic, so it felt fitting to tell the yearning story of forbidden same sex love between women in early American history. She harnesses the classic country sound with a modern message that inspires gratitude to be born in the here and now, where one can choose how to be and who to love.

SPACE&AGES – “Trial & Error”
Country: Australia
Genre: Indie Rock
Words From the Artist/PR: ‘Trial & Error’ produced by Brisbane’s Brock Weston (BUGS), sees SPACE&AGES at their best, infusing their bursting indie-rock energy with pop-punk guitar riffs, elated choruses, and an intimate bridge that’s felt right in the chest. Lead singer Phin Spence’s expressive vocals lay bare the raw feelings embedded in the verses, weaving spoken and smoothly sung phrases seamlessly, with a touch of that Aussie accent to top it off. The track crescendos with a stunning falsetto delivery from Phin Spence, a ripping guitar solo, and a group chanted outro, leaving an unforgettable impression. At its core, ‘Trial & Error’ dives into the intricate dance of romantic entanglements, exploring vulnerability and the pursuit of self-worth. The song’s theme mirrors the human condition, reflecting the ups and downs when finding love.

Frogs Show Mercy – “Chester’s Privilege”
Country: US
Genre: Shoegaze
Words From the Artist/PR: FSM is back with their most emotionally hardcore song to date. After a sample from an interaction they had with Chester Stone years ago, the song drops into organized chaos with wailing guitars and FAT drums and a violent bass line tickling your ears immediately. The breakdowns into the verses, cut time signatures, and seamless bridges all add uniqueness to a familiar sounding genre we all know and love, and the whining screamo vocals on top only add to the intensity of the song. That is, until the outro at 2:40, where the vibe completely switches into a cool down with more sample on top. A crazy switch up that’s become a staple of FSM songs, this one is our favorite to date and we hope you enjoy.

Words From the Artist/PR: Black Moon is the debut single from the forthcoming album “Fingerpaints” (due Spring 2024) by Canadian artist Geoff Marshall. The droning guitars of Black Moon underpin the themes of isolation and uncertainty found in the lyrics. The carefully constructed vocals long for an impossible eclipse to put out the spotlight in the sky. Black Moon’s intricate percussion and looping bass lines push forward amidst tinkling keyboards and shimmering pedal steel.
