Floodhounds – “Near-Life Experience”

Country: UK

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “The riff came first, and we knew straight away that it had some real punch behind it. Lyrically, the song delves into the struggle of feeling numb and disillusioned but reminding you to break free of that apathy, seize the day and hold on to the moments that make you feel alive. I’m sure everyone has felt those moments in the daily grind overwhelms you and you feel like you’re not living your life to the fullest, and this song is the answer to that, hopefully some of that energy blasting through the speakers can reach out to drag you up out of the haze.”

KLEN – “Compendium/Consortium”

Country: UK

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: New single ‘Compendium/Consortium’ is a real-time narrative of a satirical fantasy board meeting at a multinational conglomerate. The big wigs chat & scheme amongst themselves, exploring ways in which to expand and inflate profits at the expense of the customer, whilst ensuring – most importantly, they have a really nice time in the process.

Swerve – “Just Pretend”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “I want to start off by saying this song is not about our current partners, in case they happen to be reading this! “Just Pretend” came together in the studio as we were drinking mezcal, our beverage of choice, and talking about our younger and dumber earlier relationships. We channeled some post-punk into our Replacements DNA, and the bridge came together the day of recording. We always do our basic tracking live, so once we got it down there was no going back. We slathered that part in feedback and weird effects to give it a psych breakdown that pulls you into a different headspace before the chorus comes raging back in. We loved how that worked out and will probably do more off-the-cuff things like that in the next bunch of songs. “

Pamphlets – “In Those Eyes”

Country: US

Genre: Shoegaze

Words From the Artist/PR: In Those Eyes is a self realization of becoming something you fight against. It’s realizing how weaponized hate is cyclical and in so vowing to break the cycle.

The Vaniers – “This Dog”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “This Dog” has been brewing for over a decade (don’t ask us its age in dog years). Dubbed “The Forbidden Tune,” it seemed impossible for The Vaniers to crack. One night, while the band was experimenting with a motown-inspired rhythm over a rolling guitar riff loaded with double-stops, “This Dog” finally found its groove in the chorus.

June Body – “Take Our Time Back”

Country: Canada

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “Take Our Time Back” is the latest single from the trio’s third album, Last Everythings (June 7, 2024); a snow globe of the scenes before, during, and after a breakup. It is a venture into the subtle, heartbreaking domestic details of an ending. “I ended a year-long relationship that I realized I wasn’t ready to be in from the start,” Connor elaborates about the new track. “I fell in love with a great person, but a voice in the back of my mind kept telling me it wasn’t meant to be. ‘Take Our Time Back’ is about the guilt of having to break their heart, and wondering if they’re wishing they could take back the time we had together.”

Black Magick Marching Band – “Doombox”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: A spooky, spacey indie cut with mopey lyrics and wild siren guitars in the chorus. The bridge is a proper riot of fizzy, fuzzy guitars.

Kind Beast – “Cry Without Shame”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: This song relates to primal feeling therapy, an encouragement of expressing sorrow rather than repression.

Bug Seance – “These Days”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “These Days” is a song about the struggle of letting go while grappling with personal hardship, fraught relationships, and an increasingly unpredictable world. Above all, the lyrics enforce the importance of leaning on one’s community during times when the ground is shaky. It’s a track that perfectly demonstrates the strength of friendship in tough times, and if there’s one thing that Bug Seance is, it’s a group of five really great friends who love making music together.

Aubrey Straw – “Scribbling Lines”

Country: UK

Genre: Indie Punk

Words From the Artist/PR: Feel the frenetic energy of Aubrey Straw’s ‘Scribbling Lines,’ an Indie Punk whirlwind from the perspective of a rapid-cycling schizophrenic seeking solace in art. At Briton Ferry Community Centre, he pours his pain onto canvas, only to discover chilling revelations hidden within his scribbled lines. As experts unravel clues of his heinous crimes, committed by his alter ego, the track delves into the depths of the human psyche. ‘Scribbling Lines’ is a haunting exploration of art, madness, and the thin line between creativity and chaos.
