A Short Walk To Pluto – “Little Choice”

Country: Canada

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “Think Alanis Morrissette singing in Led Zeppelin but about the struggles of ADHD. The verse lyrics personify the constant struggle to stay focused, while the chorus is your internal voice standing up for yourself. The answering machine recording in the bridge is your internal voice politely telling your ADHD to “fuck off.” We hope ‘Little Choice’ shakes you with a new batch of confidence that’ll help you get a grip with your own internal distractions.”

Ghost Wounds – “Fate of Lust”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR:  “This is the lead single off our new EP, a song about personal devastation. We’re a band from eastern PA featuring ex-members of Speedwell, Meredith Bragg + the Terminals, Sound of Reverse, etc.”

Look Back Luna – “For A Day”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “This song takes a major influence from three genres, 80s pop rock, and modern indie/emo rock. The song is about being someone else for a day or sporadically without fully thinking it through, hence it only lasts for a day. The inspiration here was someone a member of the band once dated when she came out of basic training in the Navy, she began to go by her middle name instead of her first and changed her name on all forms of social media until she changed it back within a short period of time which consisted of the member’s friends calling her by her middle name followed by the phrase “for a day.””

Lauren Lakis – “Loud Voices”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “I wrote it during lockdown in LA….trapped in my head, trapped within screens, tired of talking heads constantly talking at me through screens, telling me what to believe and what to think, missing my friends and my family, wanting to connect…no one was around, but I still saw their faces and heard their voices all around me.”

DESTINOVA – “Babalocke”

Country: Germany

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “This song is of the upcoming DESTINOVA Album. The Album Arcane will be released on 25.10.24”

Osiris Lights – “Kill Me Slow”

Country: Australia

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “‘KILL ME SLOW’ is the first single to be released from Osiris Lights’ upcoming EP entitled “TRIPTYCH”, a concept EP following the story of a figure as they journey through the essence of human emotion and resilience. Just as the heart wall has three layers, so does the music of Osiris Lights. Each song unique in its own right but dependent upon the others to represent the sonic, lyrical and visual beating heart of Osiris Lights. KILL ME SLOW is the first piece, beginning the journey of our character, gasping for air in the midst of helplessness as addiction and desire take over them.”

The Orrs – “Change Keys”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “This is the second song off of our self titled, second album. It’s got a rocking verse and then a more mellow chorus that drops right back into the chord progression!”

The Cle Elum – “Old Folks”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “”Old Folks” (aka “Old F*cks) is the latest indie-rock earworm from power duo The Cle Elum. Comprised of drummer Sarah Sargent and guitarist / vocalist Ian Lee, the band channels inspirations from Nada Surf to The Getup Kids to Guided By Voices into catchy, punky indie rock.”

Quinine – “Where Are You From”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “ask anyone in the scene in Sac who the best band from their city is, and they all chose Quinine as their champion. past the 30 second waiting room feel of the intro, this song crashes into the speaker with full force. This is a driving wall of sound enough to swallow a man whole. fittingly, Quinine has three guitarists. catchy licks, vitriolic lyrics—what more to love? this track was expertly recorded by legendary engineer Jack Shirley and it’s the band’s fist big studio recording.”

knitting – “Sleeper”

Country: Canada

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist/PR: “Montreal’s knitting will release their debut LP Some Kind of Heaven via the beloved Vancouver label Mint Records on September 6th. The band have been building buzz steadily over the last couple of years following a self-released cassette and opening spots for artists like Nap Eyes, Julie Doiron, Cherry Glazerr, Truth Club and Gulfer, and their album was produced by Scott Munro of Preoccupations. They make squalling, ’90s-inflected alt rock about growing up and growing into trans identity, that recalls bands like Dilly Dally, Pardoner and Momma, but it’s both noisier than any of those bands, and in some ways more earnest and emotionally-direct as well. This track is one of the mellower ones, introducing a bit of a Sebadoh feel into the mix.”
