Yellowboot – “Barista”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist:  “This is a big in your face rock song about toxic manipulative people.”

Spiders on Drugs – “Rewind”

Country: Sweden

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “Spiders On Drugs is the brainchild of swedish guitarist Håkan Järvå. It is an outlet for all the musical ideas that has no place in the regular band I play in. The songs are spanning different genres and you can expect new releases every month, alternating between 70s and 90s rock and soul/funk/jazz.”

Cheats – “Machine Jr.”

Country: Philippines

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist: “Jim Bacarro, vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter of the band, says that the genesis of houseplants was the band’s decision to scrap an album that would have been released in March 2020 had it not been for the world stopping. They did so when they were able to regather and regroup, and this album marks a new beginning of sorts. Each Cheats album, Jim says, marks a different phase in the band’s life. “The first [self-titled 2015] album was about youthful rebellion,” he says, “Before the Babies [2017] was about [the] fear of new life stages. I think Houseplants captures where we are now: a sense of security with hints of anxiety.” He adds that this shows in how the songs are arranged.”

JP Gregory – “Beast”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist:  “This song is my personal favorite of the 4 I’ve released within the past year. It is a song about becoming something you don’t really like to see and hoping that the people around you are strong enough to put you in your place while you are enjoying the havoc. The idea for the song came while I was watching my favorite scene from the movie “Logan” on youtube. It got me thinking about how Logan became Wolverine and how he really hated himself after his transformation from human to mutant, but sort of sadistically enjoyed the way he was invincible and could do what he wanted. While there is a silver lining for Wolverine, I opted to keep the silver lining out of this song and keep a dark undertone throughout. The evolving structure of the song really encapsulated the werewolf-like transformation I envisioned while in the writing stages.”

Linebeck – “karoshi (Over A Dream)”

Country: Canada

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist: “‘Karoshi’ means ‘death by overwork’ in Japanese. ‘karoshi (Over a Dream)’ is about just that – it’s about hating your job and balancing it with chasing an unachievable dream. It’s a catchy, jangly track reminiscent of R.E.M. and the Smiths (complete with catty lyrics), but with additional dreamy female vocals.”

Newborn – “Nobody’s Child”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “This is our first single in over three years since the pandemic started. The pandemic slowed everything down in the world including the recording process in music studios, so we are thrilled to finally have finished this song.”

The Mammoths – “Down The Middle”

Country: US

Genre: Alt Rock

Words From the Artist: “This is the 2nd single we released in December. We’ll tour Texas and Colorado in early 2023 then hit the east coast in the spring to support the song. Fun fact: we recorded a butt slap before the drop in the breakdown”

Erika Wester – “Fifteen”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist: “I want Fifteen to be a comfort song for people. I found comfort in writing it at a time when I was feeling incredibly lost and down, and hope that people can find solace in feeling less alone when they listen to it.”

Ramona Marx – “Fight Night”

Country: UK

Genre: Punk

Words From the Artist: ““Fight Night” will be the latest addition to the Ramona Marx catalog of music and is the heaviest one thus far. The song paints a picture of how many people are at tipping point and sometimes the water boils over. You see red and then boom all hell has broken loose, Fight Night is our depiction of this escapade.”

Moozy – “Always The End”

Country: US

Genre: Indie Rock

Words From the Artist: “This is a song about how every moment is the end of something and how it’s important to fully appreciate moments in time before they pass. We self-recorded and produced this track in a home studio in a row house in Washington DC.”
