Bon Villan is a Toronto-based group that infuses rock with electronic music to create a unique sound all their own. They’ve just released their latest single, “All The Way”, the first from their upcoming full-length album. We caught up with the trio to ask a few quick questions.

From the Strait: What are your pre-show rituals?

Bon Villan: Bon Villain’s pre-show ritual almost always consists of food. That small sweet window between sound check and the start of the show is usually prime chow time. We’ll always try to check out a local spot around the venue. Then it’s just hangs at the venue. Have some drinks. Take in the other artists. We always get hyped just before our set but the lead up is usually pretty chill.

FTS: While touring, what’s on your road trip playlist?

Bon Villan: Our road trip playlist changes pretty often depending on what new artists and songs we’ve discovered. Some of the main stays are Sir Sly, Jungle, Rufus Du Sol and Louis The Child. If we’re in a particularly electronic mood we might bump Porter Robinson, Ghasper, San Holo, and Oski. With Hanes choosing the music, we might even hear some Anamanaguchi.

FTS: What’s next for Bon Villan?

Bon Villan: We’ll be dropping another single this summer along with two beastly remixes we can’t say too much about just yet. Fans outside of North America will get their first glimpse of our moody, hypnotic live shows with our first professionally produced Live Show Video. All of this is leading to our first album dropping in Jan 2020 that we are incalculably excited about. We are your one to watch.
