We post a lot of mini reviews on our social pages, sharing the latest and greatest tracks that come our way. Here are a few you may have missed!
Wristwatch – “Hints”
It’s an exceptionally cool track: punk-tinged garage rock with an almost Pixies-like vibe. While accessible and hooky, it still contains just the right amount of grit and a chaotic post-punk buzz that perfectly showcases the band’s raw sound. The single “teeters between urgency and restraint — a cathartic release wrapped in tight sonic control,” says the band’s label, No Coast Recordings.
Friends With Boats – “What You Got”
It’s an energetic, bouncy track from the German band, with skate punk, pop punk, and emo influences shining through. Featuring hard-hitting drums and catchy guitar riffs, “What You Got” is full of heart and honesty, delivered in a fast-paced, anthemic style.
“It packs the energy of tour life and the music that kept us going,” says the band. “‘What You Got’ is our testament to how far community can carry us.”
Black Budget – “Stranger”
It’s an absolutely huge song from the band: doomy, heavy punk melded with industrial elements. “STRANGER” presents Black Budget in a new, more intense light. A whirlwind of chaos and pent-up aggression, released in a satisfying sonic package. In the band’s own words, it’s “a song with tension and release, a song you can dance or unleash yourself to, in a raw and personal way.”
The Scarlet Son – “Meet Me By The Shore”
It’s emo-meets–post-hardcore for those looking for a comforting reminder of the early aughts style. Melodic yet heavy, with a powerful chorus, The Scarlet Son channel the best of the era, reimagined for modern audiences.
