Oleyada is a bilingual (English/Spanish) indie-pop artist from Mississauga, creating a dreamy rock-tinged sound that complements her soft, airy vocals and infectious pop melodies. With a DIY spirit and a vast range of musical influences, her style is textured, mood-driven, and unique. She has just released her two-song EP, all about you, chock full of wispy vocals and warbly synths.

Soft, sweet vocals blend beautifully with a mellow dream pop sound of “all about you”. There’s a nostalgic feeling here, mixed with the hazy vibe of the song. Catchy and lovely, it’s hard not to immediately be drawn in.

With a more melancholy feel than its counterpart, “the sky” offers an indie-pop style that would be right at home in smoke-filled underground bars. Despite the light vocals, there’s a seriousness here that makes the listener want to dive into the lyrics to decipher their meaning. It’s intimate, without too much away.

Overall, Oleyada’s sound is poppy without being overtly bubblegum sweet. There’s a noticeable depth and vulnerability here, whether it’s found in the vocals or the lyrics. The music itself has an underlying rawness and grit, balanced perfectly by the soft, dreamy sound.
