Based in Kingston, Ontario, Kurtys Kidd is a musician and actor, now stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist for the first time – bringing with him a deep catalogue of experiences as a vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter. He has just released his brand new single, “Mary”.
“”Mary” is a song about a person who can’t commit to anyone or anything and needs to keep running to the next “bigger and better” thing to “move up” in the world,” Kurtys says of the new track. “Everyone is disposable and something better is always in the wings.“
It’s a hard rock song with fuzz and definition at the same time. With its classic rock sensibilities and a nostalgic sound that brings you back to 90s album rock, “Mary” has the perfect throwback feel.
“I wrote and recorded the song over two hot and sweaty days,” he continues. “The song began with the idea to use the thickest fuzziest guitar tone and work from there. Sounds best in your car with the volume too high and the windows open as you tear down a back road!”
