Black Hat – “Nite Tripper”
Country: US
Genre: Alt Rock
Words From the Artist: “For our band, this is a pretty straight forward (albeit slightly heavier) rocker that address the expansion of one’s mind through the shedding of ego and consideration of others. This will be a familiar theme on our upcoming full length album.”

Contour – “Caricature”
Country: Canada
Genre: Alt Rock
Words From the Artist: “”Are you convinced you know yourself?”. Caricature is an angst ridden anthem about self-reflection and working through your insecurities without losing your authentic self. We really wanted to capture the urgency of this message with an aggressive chorus provoking real questions from our audience. This is the first of three singles from our upcoming EP “I Can See How This Ends”. The EP focuses on similar social issues facing younger generations today.”

Could this be the start of a new chapter for SKATERS? All we can do is try. But for now, it’s more of a hello again than bye bye,” wrote lead singer and songwriter Michael Ian Cummings of the track.

Dirt Farmer – “Oh Boy”
Country: Canada
Genre: Indie Rock
Words From the Artist: “Oh Boy was one of those songs that was written and recorded very quickly. We did it on a lazy Sunday afternoon and actually wrote it so that we could see what a new overdrive pedal we got would sound like in a recording. The song was completed top to bottom so quickly we actually forgot about it. When we were putting together our new album Curio we took a deep dive into all of our recordings and found it. It fit with the vibe we were going for son on the album it went. The words touch on how anxiety can cripple us sometimes and stop us from being in a place we need to be. However, us humans can be quite resilient and meet it head on as in the last line….”I am ready, to do it all again.””

The Frst w/ Bronnie and Kellin Quinn – “Bruce Lee”
Country: US
Genre: Alt Rock
Words From the Artist: A punk anthem about isolation Regarding the song itself, Mikei Gray explains: “The idea was to sing a song about feeling isolated, but in a way that brought people together. [We] sort of realized that we all feel the same [way]. It’s been such an honor to work with not one, but TWO incredible artists! And quite frankly, I’m just so stoked that they got it! [laughs] ‘Bruce Lee’ is such a quirky song, I was beyond terrified sending it to two artists that I love and respect… but both of their responses were amazing–and identical, funny enough…(”yo this is dope!”) The final polish came from Ryan Prewett (our mixer), who’s perhaps best known for his television commercials, and the final master from his multi platinum partner Sam Moses, but both Kellin & Bronnie really took it to new heights.

Hollow Graves – “High Exposure”
Country: Canada
Genre: Indie Rock
Words From PR: Indie rockers Hollow Graves criticizes the dishonesty of self-publicity on “High Exposure” Hollow Graves has been making waves in the Toronto music scene since 2018. Their music blends indie rock, post-punk, shoegaze, and features atmospheric guitar work, pulsating bass lines, powerful drumming, with expressive and haunting vocals. Their song “High Exposure” is about the temptation to lie and hide one’s true self when faced with high praise and fame, and the pitfall of dishonesty on personal growth and self-discovery. In a world where self-publicity has become the biggest habit in an artist’s career, we all notice the intoxicating effects of attention and fame on a person’s behavior and choices. Hollow Graves wanted to touch on that in “High Exposure” because it’s very prevalent in the artists we see online today.
