About Vogue Villains
Vogue Villains are a hard rocking alternative band with a musical foundation planted firmly in catchy melodies and multipart harmonies. The live sound? Is big, dirty and full of raw energy while also having a humorous stage presence that goes hand in hand with their tongue in cheek lyrical sensibilities. Set on making music that feels unique, yet
unafraid to wear the boys many influences on their sleeves, this powerhouse of a band has created a sound that is undeniably and unmistakably VV.
Vogue Villains is made up of four members: Andrew Baskin (Lead Vox, Bass), Lucas Antoni (Lead Vox, Guitar), Nate Cox (Drums, Vox) and Robert Johnston (Keyboard, Guitar, Vox)
ABOUT THE SONG: “Wrong Side of Midnight” – out on November 15th
“On the surface Wrong Side of Midnight is a song from the perspective of a vampire that cares more about how they look than they do about drinking the blood of the innocent, but underneath the dirty rock exterior and massive energy is an anthem about knowing exactly who you are and feeling more than comfortable in whatever supernatural skin you’re in, a song about busting through the constraints of who you’re told to be, all while flipping off anyone who has something to say about it.
Midnight actually began as a joke, a simple folk jam with silly lyrics that we used as an injection of silliness into a hard rock set but it always went over so well that we decided to morph the song into a more intentional rock song to be a banger for the new record. So while the music changed dramatically, the cheeky attitude remained and it quickly became one of our most popular live songs and the crowds sing along!”
